Went in for the surgery this morning, got hooked up to the IV and was sleeping within minutes.. two hours later I was waking up and they were done.

Tears started dripping profusely down my chipmunk cheeks.. to which the nurse lady asked if I was in pain. Through clenched teeth I explained that No, my mother passed away last month and I while I was sleeping I had a very vivid dream of her being alive and well. (seriously).

My friend drove me to the pharmacy where I got my prescription for Amoxycillan (sp?) and Percocet... and $20 worth of 50% off Easter chocolate (yay me).

I've been bleeding like a mofo.. overall the surgery went fairly well except for the top left corner teeth did NOT want to come out. so he said to expect the most pain there. My cheeks are black and blue, but I'm really not in pain.. just a dull ache really.

I haven't eaten since last night and my said friend above took me to her families house.. where they all had nice hot steaming bowls of posole. Bastards. I get pudding or yogurt tonight.

Anyhoo.. I think I'll be okay. Once I heal I have $20 worth of chocolate to look forward too ;)

Glad it's all over for you. :D

I just ate my last easter egg... wanna share :D

Just be sure you aren't too numb afterwards.

Best wishes on your recovery.

Not a fun day? WTF? She spent the morning on drugs, and she's got candy for later, What's not fun about that? ;)

Hope the pain goes away soon Licky.

Lo

yes Ms. Oughts, I will share my chocolate with you.. :D

sd412.. not too numb? what do you mean?

and yes rainbow, huggs and ksses and falwowers will make meee feal lots better. ;)

save a couple of the percoset for future emergencies...if the bleeding continues dampen a t-bag and gently bite down on it...it will help with the clotting....hope you get better real soon...

When my grandmother died I had dreams like that at least four times a week for a very long time. I think my Mom mentioned that she did the same and heard it was fairly common thing for people. I still get them occasionally now.

Anyhoo, I hope you feel better soon.

good to see your doing good Lickerish, when I had my wisdoms out took me 4 days to get up and about... then again you don't have the same pills I had those things made me sleep and hilusinate like hell.

Stay well girl

Hey hon, I am glad the surgery went well. Just keep your gums packed down with gauze and change often. And remember.... NO STRAWS

If you're numb for a while and it doesn't go away it means that your surgeon or dentist nicked the nerve and that it'll be numb for a loooooong time. Happened to me. Still is.

:)Glad to hear the surgery went well. As for the brused cheeks, if you rub them it will dispurse the trapped blood & the bruises will be gone quickly. It's just a thought ..but you said you were scared of this surgey & while under your mind went to a safe place, or your Mom was watching over you . I like the latter. My Dad did the same for my Mom when she had surgery. Just a thought.:) Hugs.... Feel better soon. :rose:

Lickerish,

I hope you feel better, soon.
Ice packs help. Take the drugs. Sleep as much as possible.
I had oral surgery last year. After the swelling goes down, it'll be better.
Take care of yourself, love.:rose:

Ouch, that can hurt, my wisdom teeth were growing in sideways and had to be ripped out.I drank a lot of Camomile (sp) tea since that makes you calm and sleepy and slept away the pain for a while. but the drugs do help too.
*Munching on poor carmel filled Mr. Bunny as i type*
hope i don't get any cavities!

The Percocet isn't helping :( Is Vicoprofen the same thing? Cuz I still got some of that stuff left over from when my wisdom tooth was breaking through a few weeks ago.

And it won't quit bleeding.. the doctor said it was supposed to quit bleeding about an hour after the surgery, it's now been 11 hours. I've been keeping it packed with sterile gauze and now I'm trying my second set of tea bags.... suckers are making me gag too.

And I'm sooo hungry :(

This sucks.

BarberBabe.. thats a nice thought about my mom. Thank you.

Hope you're feeling better soon, Lickerish. Sounds like you've had a hard day, but in the end it'll be well worth it.

<<<<<<<<<<*sad for my lickerish*

Baby, have you been rinsing with salt water? That can help the rawness but otherwise, I think, but am not sure, it can help with clotting? Eh? I don't remember. I was high on codine pills for mine, because they had to break my jaw to get my lower left out. It was impacted 6 on their scale of 1 being least and 6 being most. It was no fun.

I wish you had some heavier narcotics. :(

If it makes you feel better, we are starving together. I can't hold much down but Hansen's black cherry soda, and pretzles. :(

Oh baby, I hope you feel better soon.

Make sure you don't let the pain pills wear off. That's very important. Don't wait to feel pain before you take them. Take them every 4 hours (or whatever the prescription says).

Wow. Ugly and stupid. I'm impressed, Starfish. Why you puking this time? Then how the hell can you drink COLORED soda?

Lickerish, DO NOT RINSE. The bleeding is a good thing, unless it's really really heavy. That's how you get a blood clot...you need that. Remember, you might not be bleeding that bad. When blood mixes with your saliva it can look like WAY more than it is. You rinse the clot out, you could get dry socket and that hurts more than you could ever imagine. You can cocktail Ibuprofen with whatever you're taking, provided it doesn't already HAVE ibuprofen in it. Might help with the swelling some and make you feel better. Don't take aspirin, it'll just make you bleed more.

When you lay down, sleep on 2 pillows to keep your head elevated. If swallowing all that blood is making you queasy, sip on some flat Coke.

Feel better soon and if you don't, then call your surgeon. Wake the fucker up if you have to, and if he acts like he doesn't care, make him care. It's your health.

Hi fishie.. I hope you feel better soon.. we should baby each other :)

I can't rinse with anything yet, it'll remove whatever clot there is, and that's a bad thing. I have this nasty tasting stuff I'll use tomorrow.

Hi rubyfruit.. I know, I've been taking 1 percocet every 3-4 hours as prescribed.. but they're not really doing much for me. The only thing that feels good is the gel ice pack I bought, but it has to be re-frozen like every 1/2 hour :(

My cheek is really getting bruised.. apparently the top left tooth was so hard to get out, he had to stretch the corner of my mouth as far to the ear as possible.. I've noticed I have a rip in the corner of my lip, I think that hurts worse than anything :(

(and thanks for the well wishing Sunnygirl- and everybody else) :)
