Ok, how old were you when your wisdom teeth came in?

How old were you when you got your first?

Cause, my lower right side jaw has been achy for days, the gums a bit swallon, then last night, when I was feeling around it, I felt a very sharp edge just under the skin, and it hurt like hell.

Mine never did. The doc cut 'em out when I was 14 because they were lying sideways, pushing on my other teeth, threatening to undo all the orthodontia Mama had paid good money for.

I had thought I had gotten them in a while ago, but I know this is a tooth doing the pain. Grr. :(

Is it possible to have 2 sets?

I honestly don't remember them coming in, only got the bottom two. They were there when my braces came off, so I guess 14 or so.

Important part was they were gone by 23.

One and a half in my twenties, one still hiding and the other non-existent.

oooh...does this mean I can now be identified by my dental records? :D

I'm pushing 33 and they are still not in.
I guess we lack the wisdom?
All I know is mine is in hiding.. :D

My first one came in about three years ago and I haven't had one since. I am 25.

I had all 3 of mine before I was 20. I say all 3, 'cause the last time I went to a dentist (right around 19 or 20), they did x-rays on my gums, and said that the 4th tooth wasn't even in my gums, and would therefor never show. so far, 7 years later, it hasn't.

The bottom two at 25 and the top left at 38. Top right still hasn't come in.

Top right looks just about ready to pop out any minute from where I am sitting.....;)

My wisdom teeth never came in because they were impacted. I had the four of them surgically removed when I was 16.

This just blows!

I now have more sympahthy for my 1 year old, though.

My lowers came in when I was 14 or 15. My uppers came in when I was 16.

Yes it is possible to have 2 sets. My lil sister had hers removed when she was 16 and when she turned 20 they came back.

And all the tools you need to get through this right on hand! That frozen washcloth in the freezer - you two can fight over it now. :)

I had a complete set, plus a fifth one. The term is "supernumerary" .

Be it a tooth or an abcess, you should see about an X-ray.
Either might weaken the bone, and shouldn't be ignored.
