Oh, the tangled webs we weave...

My mom always told me.. you can't be involved in the gossip if you don't allow yourself to be.

There is that.

And the irony that she's telling everyone that she's becoming the ostrich that she was berating others for being last week.

all the while.. she's over in IM's or emails gossiping ;)

Yeah, and my mom always told me that my sisters couldn't chase me if I didn't run from them.

No, that doesn't have anything to do with the thread.

But the scary thing about that is.....she was right. OMG your mother is a genious.

I am going to use that one on my sons the next time they come screaming to me about being chased by the other one.

Thanks

So you stood there and got beat up instead of trying to out run them?

Wait.. maybe it was just my brothers that tried to beat me up.

Sounds good in theory, doesn't it? (and I've used it on the girls)

Another one that works on my kids is "She couldn't hit you back if you didn't hit her first"

But... see Freaky's post. Not running sometimes = geting the crap beat out of you.

You are making this parenting thingy so much easier. Keep going. I am taking notes now.

That's what I was wondering. Kids usually run for a reason.

*scratches through that note*

So are ya'll saying I should let him run or not?

Take comfort. Most medical plans now pay for therapy if the child still lives with you, so it's not as though you're working without a net.

Oh Great!

Now I have to reinstate the health insurance. Do you have any idea how much money that takes out of the beer and peanuts fund?

Yes, unlike cats, they usually do, but as with cats you'll probably be forced to guess at the why of it.

Yeah, but sometimes the reason is "Mommy, there's a monkey in my tummy!"

Kymberly, if your kids are still young enough, the answer "It's magic, honey." Is perfectly acceptable to all 'how does it work' type questions. And if you knew me better, you'd put the pen down and run NOW... lol

They are 15 and 14.
They really understand the Mommy Laws.

Mommy makes them, enforces them, changes them, and rewrites them.

And that is all there is to say about that one.

Ohhhh you're good.

I'm pretty sure by the time my girls are that age, I'll be locked away in the state hospital in St Joe.

You can stay with us while you are up for visiting them.

Ahhh...that makes a hell of a lot of sense. *nods*

The fact that I left the thread and the board to do homework with my child and make supper and eat it with my child and watch American Idol with my child while not worrying what a pack of insensitive twits say about me = getting the crap beat out of me.

Thanks...I appreciate the explanation.

Note to Mia: Please see in my above post where I stated that my comment re: Running/chasing had NOTHING to do with your thread.

It's called a hijack. Get over yourself.

Note to pcg..

It is called a generic response to two pages of absolute trite of which you and others were a part of.
Get over yourself...yours just happened to be the shortest post to quote.

LOL My oldest monster started 'walking' at 7 months. It was hysterical to watch, because she never really took normal walking steps... she'd just take off running and the momentum would keep her from falling down.

By the way, Lit has always been 3 degrees of separation, not 6. It's a small community of people who actually post with a much larger communitiy of those who only read. If you gossip about people away from the board in PM or IM, someone here will know that you do that and it won't be a secret for long.

Nice tips from Kymberley, too!:)

My boys run because it is physically impossible for them to walk.

And I thought that only applied to MY boys!
Good to know that mine aren't the ony ones 'unable' to walk.

This is true.

I'm also confused by the announcement that PMs are off... while making sure everyone can reach you on yahoo. Is the immediacy of yahoo more or less likely to foster gossip?
