Oh Que!

That story made me laugh. People are such funny creatures. It's a good lyric, though.

I was pretty bemused myself. but ~sings~ a little bit angry...

Whole thing was surreal. This conversation happened in a garage with the garage door hanging open presumably to let the neighbors know that there was nothing untoward going on.

She motioned me to have a seat in one of those old-fashioned folding aluminum lawn chairs she sat on an old office chair that was next to an old secretary's credenza with the typewriter missing.

Wait! Did you move back in with your folks?

Nope still with my boss and his fam...didn't want to explain to his wife why the chock that works with his husband all day doesn't want to be net nannied.

Someday I want to see this in person!

Should have asked the kids. They probably already knew how.

You're probably right..it was a 16 year old that hooked me up!

I'll take you. Also look up Avebury stone circle, less well known and impressive maybe , but kind of cooler I think.

I will look it up tonight! And Elle, if I ever get across the pond I most certainly hope to meet you!

After a week off I have had an extremely long day. One more stop before it is over and I can drag my filthy self into a shower...then I have some plans tonight that will aid me in some really sweet dreams later on.

Dave, I got photos for you, :). I even took a bit of a funny route, up Whitehall ( from the Houses of Parliament to Trafalgar Square) , to get some. ( suited me though, because there was an exhibition at the national gallery I wanted to see, well, two, but I only went to one, there are limits. ) But it was a funny call, taking this route because we walked right by Hugh Grant. I only saw the back of his head really , but I emailed Jezzi to tell her, :) it's not uncommon at all to walk by 'celebrities' or shop in shops with them, but it feels funny to see an actor in Whitehall.

In the early evening G and I met another UK litster from bdsm board for a drink and then went to a great jazz venue to hear really fantastic band. g goes there a lo, and they were so kind to us last night, they had actually comped us the tickets and when we got there they put us in not the superior seats ( which I always hated) but my FAVOURITE table, not the bench seats we had chosen ( a bit cheaper so less of an ask, and behind my favourite table).

We had a beautiful drive home, getting home before two, and once of the motorway having most of the road to ourself, and having the last fifty miles entirely to ourselves on the road. The only disappointment wS normally in such conditions we would see wildlife, but not last night.

Been gone. I love jazz! If you ever see my garden, I'd like to steer you towards a great club in Chicago. Sounds like you had a great time!

If you have the room you can build your own stone circle. If not standing stones, wood posts work.

Another way is a linear sun calendar. A central post cast it's shadow at noon on a different spot as year progresses. Stones or markers )plants) can be used to mark special day (birthdays, holidays, anniversaries).

Lots of ways to track the suns movements. Let your inner pagan out.

Anyone with a backyard can put up a stone circle sundial.

http://alchemyandanarchy.friendhood.net/t72-make-a-stone-circle-sundial

Height of pole determines how long shadow is. Top of shadow changes by season too.

Make it fancy and build into a nice garden. A 4x4 post with climbing ivy or clematis makes a cool sundial.

Build in the cardinal compass points. Put in a pathway and voils, ici. You have your own henge.

I'm changing the venue today

I started this thread so I can do that!

Yesterday, I had a http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j8/jezzi_lee/smilies/sm_confused.gif moment.

I put in the first half of my day finishing up some landscaping that totally transformed this Cali boys house that he wants to sell or rent now that he is no longer attending the U of Madison.

It was raining in the am but I was up on the roof cutting back branches, swept it off and finally cleaned the gutters. My shorts looked like I peed in them or something. It was quite uncomfortable for the remainder of the am in which we weeded and fabriced and planted and mulched and etc. So we finish up and now the sun is out and the tshirt is off the tank is on, the shorts are shed for the shorter shorts and the owner and prominent Madison man step out. I am putting things away on the truck and my boss calls me over to walk the boys around and show off our handy work (and explain the foliage) as I step around the truck the owner (who I have met previously) and I exchange smiles and handshakes and then he introduces me to the mountain of a man standing next to him and when he touched my hand I shivered. Freakin' shivered. As my eyes looked up I must have blushed or something, I could not talk and his smile just widened. I knew he knew the effect he was having and he enjoyed it. I don't think he was being all cocky or anything, more amused. So now I have to take the guys around and explain things, only I forgot the difference between the hostas I planted and which was which for a second, so I excused myself for a moment, went to the truck and got a drink of water. Found my composure, returned and wowed them with our transformation.

Got back in the truck to leave and my boss was laughing. I have no idea what the three of them discussed after my tour was over, well I kind of do because boss man loves to give me crap.

Ever have one of those moments? I don't have them often, but when I forget my own name it pisses me off and makes me pissed off at myself. Why do some people have that effect on others? I no longer want to go boating this summer because Mountain of a man is always hangin' on Gilligans Island.

I could use one of those moments. Are you sure you're not mysteriously smitten with Mountain man?
By the way, the highways around your hometown seem to be flooded.

Flooded? Most of them have areas that are washed away. We have to go all the way to Iron River to backtrack down 2 to get to Ashland...bibbon swamp. 2 in odanah 13 and M all have washed areas that are closed.

I hate hostas!

I don't either but they are cheap dress up for foreclosures
