Oh Que!

Probably will hit the Bayfield / Washburn side and go to Friendly Beach. Tomorrow we are picking up two of my great nephews and joining a bunch of family members for the parade / picnic/ fireworks thing. Then Tuesday i am taking my 16 year old niece kayaking or tubing or canoeing, we have not decided which yet...or maybe to madeline island to ride the mopeds... or bicycles. Pictures will happen!

Have a great time! I didn't make it to the island this year... I'd like to go there and bike sometime. You'll be safe.

It has been a productive day. Rolled change and enchiladas. If I had ever acquired the taste, I'd roll a fat one.

I may close out the day taking a roll of change to the laundromat and then rolling socks before rolling into my bunk and snuggling into my bed-roll.

I took some change in the other day because a bucket was full. $112.00. Yay savings....

I stayed on the ashland side. I froze my keester off. Then we went to Morgan fall . Now we are chill axing by the for fire pit. My dog is petrified of fireworks and sleeping on my lap, only because, doggy valium.

You must've spent the quarters or it would have been more than that. I had $68, and $40 of that was quarters.

I have been playing a little game to use my pocket change instead of bringing it home. Most days, I fail. I'll end the day with more jingle in my pocket than I started.

Seeing no one else is taking up the question to me initially (despite a few of you leaving it in Jezz's quote)...I will now answer it:

Like my Dad, even love my Dad? Yes, I do! He's getting into the twilight years of his life (82, pushing 83, as he would say), and I don't get to see as much of him and spend time with him as much as I'd like. It wasn't always like that. We didn't get along very well while I was in Oz; only since I started living and working in China.

He's lucky he can still travel. How he will cope with the walking he will be doing while he is in China will be a real test of his stamina. It's going to be steamy hot everywhere.

But we are as excited as he is that he will be here soon.

Poor dog. Not a hunting dog, I assume. I think most dogs are a little gun shy. My parents had to keep poor Benji inside during fireworks season.

I'm going to London next week, that's quite fun for me! ( London is a big place so it feels like a safe location to give!). I'm already trying to decide what to wear . It's meant to be warmer then and I've grown unused to urban rush. :D

Sounds like fun! I've always wanted to go there. Watch the urban rush! A few weeks in the woods and I go back to the city-- I always initially get a little spooked by traffic.

My cats are little freaks for fireworks, they love them, they sit on the window sill and watch them. They loved when we lived in a city with great views on celebration nights.

They sound so cute. I love cats. I don't have one, but I love other people's cats.

The "bucket" was a coca cola penny bank in the shape of a bottle. Not the huge one you normally see, the small one. I don't spend my change, I don't know why, I just save it.

I am happy to read this and happier still that you will be enjoying each others company very soon.

Not a hunting dog per se, bred to hunt largish game though. Weird since he is 30 lbs soaking wet.

He was with me when I picked up my grandmother today to take her to the parade, she is 92. I wound up taking him there as well...yes, he sat on my lap the whole time and made his little asian face at everyone that stopped to pet him. His, "Hi, I am scared of the fireworks, you must love me" face.

I think I love your cats.

I want to come and have oatmeal cookie drinks. :). But and and I are meeting a mother litster, a uk based one, while I am there, so that will be an extra treat.

I think I know who, and if I am correct I am insanely jealous!

Oh, I think you are all thinking of a particularly popular liar GBer, not the case. ;) ( I'm there next month, but I had no feed back when I mentioned that) you should be envious, she's lovely, but she's not a GBer. ;)

Hey Elle! Have fun on your trip. I would enjoy a visit if the big pond wasn't so big so I'll join the party of envious people. Nice to see old friends, especially ones who are kindred spirits.

After London though.... I want to see your garden, you want an oatmeal cookie drink.... I don't suppose we can meet somewhere in the middle?

My lawn mower is broken, :mad:with the mild, wet weather my garden might be best left behind right now.

Mine needs weeding (my garden, not the drink) and here I am.... I'm making up for a couple of lost summers (hip replacement, etc) and my garden is starting to look nice. But the trees are making too much shade and the only place tomatoes will grow is the upstairs deck.... which looks great, too. Lawn mowers! I bought second-hand one for years, and they kept breaking! Finally bought a new one last year.

That makes three of us!

Nice av, Jezz. :)

Great day today, I took a 5 year old, a 7 year old and a 16 year old to a zoo. I had a blast. We fed budgies, and we fed.... GIRAFFES!!!!! OMG the male had the longest tongue ever, and omg omg omg that mister was FRESH! Pix to come in the Wildlife thread or somewhere.
