Aww... he's so ADORABLE! I'll be getting a puppy probably in a month. Just want some relatively nice weather, so he can poop comfortably outside, haha.

I love Pandemic, it's probably my favorite! Played Carcassonne a few times and 7 Wonders is on my list to get. I think the last board game I played was King of Tokyo, the last card game was Exploding Kittens.

Feelings are tough, sometimes, no doubt about it, but you miss out on a lot of wonderful when you try to keep the difficult stuff away. At least, that's been my experience. :rose:

Scrabble I love - and I must try and get a board. In China? hmmmm!

Scattergories ..yes, I played that a few times.
And Monopoly...even Squatter (an Australian game that involved buying and selling and drenching and dipping sheep to build up your sheep station. Shearing time every time you passed it meant you got cash based on the number of sheep you owned. Droughts, and floods and stud ram fees. All the same things as Monopoly.)

I do have the 3 sets of cards in a Canasta pack - Samba as well. My wife is not that keen on it though.

And I am dying to set up my chess board permanently - probably when we move to the bigger apartment in May.

We old folks give new meaning to the concept of gaming. :D

Canasta has always been the game of choice in my family. It never gets old or dull for us. I wish I could play chess better, but apart from knowing the basic moves, I never got the hang of it.

I beat the computer - ONCE - first time I played against it. I guess It figured out what kind of a player I was and I haven't beaten it again.
It's hard finding anyone to play against here, and I am not familiar with the rules of Chinese chess. Or their card games either.

just read the first line of Wiki - it's of German origin...based on an American game called Halma..

then another source: Chinese checkers traces its roots from an ancient game called Alquerque. The original game was played in ancient Rome, Greece, Egypt, and India.

lol don't get me started on the food here. It's totally different. Almost everything.
Some things westerners never eat or are served.

The worst is the Chinese attempts at western food. Except the chains: Pizza Hut, Maccas, etc...no difference.
I first came here in 2002, then a break of a couple of years, came back in 2006 and have never left.

That must have been quite a culture shock. But you must like it or you wouldn't have stayed. And you can have pizza when you want it. I had pizza in Italy once. It was not the same as here, but it was good.

I make my own pizza; it's cheaper. Pizza Hut is delicious though much better I feel than Australian ones. Even the décor is upmarket. Staff are very attentive.

How did I miss this??

Don't give up, Jezz, whatever has happened. From someone who is just beginning to understand what the unfreezing entails and the pain that I am open to again. Maybe it's worth it. :rose:
