Are you old enough to actually recall going to a disco? Do you have a high-speed connection to the internet, and a certain desire to experience something different than the threads here tonight?

You probably won't find this little .mpg as funny as I did, but you're probably not as tired. Turn back now... or click me. It's about 3 MB or so...

Funny! :D

I remember seeing that when it first came out.

Think we could aim that at some of those cock threads? ;)

lmao Yes, I remember discos, but I had a bumper sticker that read "Disco Sucks" so this little cartoon just tickled me no end :D

"Discos".... I wore red satin pants with a red velvert jumper. I thought I was so cool... anyone want to boggie!

God Not Discos. With discos you get disco music, polyester, sweat, gold chains, overwieght guys trying to be john travolta. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I was too young, I have no recollection what so ever.

I remember discos. I count it as a positive that I chose to never actually visit one.

I wanted to, but I could never get the white suit to look good on me. And the first time I tried to pump my hips on a dance floor I threw out my back, so I went back to drinking dollar pitchers at Buffalo Bob's and listening to rock and roll.

Life was good in those days.

(I edited only to change "fist" to "first" in the second line of the second paragraph. I really didn't want to have "fist" and "hips" in the same sentence. I mean, if folks are into that, it's cool with me, but........oh hell, never mind.)

Yep, the 70's were a different era for sure, but then every decade has something that is taken away in the next.........

I was too young to fully appreciate disco

but I do remember my friend's sister sneaking us in to Saturday Night Fever...

Yeah, it was a R16 here and I was 15. My sister dressed me in her clothes, high heel wedgies and off I went with her, I felt so grown up. I wondered what the hell condoms were in the movie, lol

I have done my best to repress the memories of 'Discos'. I do not know what they are, I never went to one...

must...take...pill!

AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Disco, disco duck...

I only managed ONE visit to a disco with my girlfriend, my aunt and her boyfriend. It was pretty exciting, but I would have enjoyed it more if I was old enough to drink then!:D

(A special "hi" and pats to Teddy. What a beautiful puppy!)

I got my shit together
I got my very own Disco clothes
my shirt's wide open
to show off my chains
and a spoon
for up my nose.

Zappa nailed it

Disco???

I was one of the lucky ones to be born as disco was making it's way OUT of our society! WHEW! ;)

Well, I'm glad to have tickled a few funny bones

...and evoked a few memories. I have the disctintion of having been the coolest DJ in two separate establishments. Never did the white suit thing, just the flashy shirt, painted on jeans, and tall-heeled boots look for me.

I was the one that played almost none of the pop-schlock, concentrating instead on what you could MOVE to. Prince had just released "Soft and Wet" and almost nobody outside of MN had heard of him yet...

I recall the view from the booth and the energy wrought by the beat vividly.

Ohmy, that was hysterical! I'm wiping my eyes from laughing. :D

When I was little (about 3 or 4), my mom used to go to this club regularly, with me in tow. I can recall the bartender giving me peppermint lifesavers. :) I don't know if it was a 'disco' (this was the very early 70s), but I do know it had a dancefloor because I can remember dancing up there with a girl with a huge afro, and with a bunch of other people.

hmmmmm.....let's see...

I graduated high school in 1974 and college in 1978....do I remember the "disco era"?? Wait...let me think.....hmmmm..

Glitter balls, sansabelt slacks, print polyester shirts with WIDE collars, Saturday Night Fever, gold chains with Italian horn medalion (or St. Christopher medal, sometimes BOTH), Rabbit fur jackets, and every woman around wearing either Love's Baby Soft or Charlie?????
Do you mean THAT "disco era"???

OH YEAH! I remember that time.....I was so cool I even had 8 different mesh scarves to wear with my different outfits....most of them matched my eyeshadow that I wore and looked soooooo good with my Farrah Fawcett hairstyle. I could just boogie-oogie-oogie til I just couldn't boogie no more! I even had ALL the K-Tel Albums!!! :D :D :D

Okay...all that stuff I just said falls under the TMI heading!!!
