There are plenty of other sports to get excited for as the winter season nears! Do you have women's hockey teams in your area to join? Being from Iowa, we have always had wrestling (legitimate wrestling, you dirty minded people!) during the winter, I don't know whether that is available in your area, but it could be fun! And hey, if you liked your wrestling partner enough, you could always pin him to the mat and have your way with him!
