Oh, ffs.

this bit was my favorite. reminded me of that rightfield moron.

1) God is a right-winger. "Liberals" are the root of all political evil. God's values are rightwing, and anything else is a rejection of His will. On a politics chart, "right" is associated with "absolute" and "God", while "left" is connected to "no values" and "atheism." The term "leftwing", we learn, exists because "left" means "sinister", "to twist something", or "to corrupt." Jesus, by contrast, taught that "we should use what we have to earn a profit." If your political views lean left, you are neither a true Christian, nor a good citizen.

*shakes head*

Equivalent to GCSE's and A levels? What the hell...

just don't wear any brown or black shirts when you do so.

Guy Fawkes masks seem to be the required uniform these days.

Seriously, though, how the fuck can a government accreditation body certify this bollocks?

apparently by citing the european convention on human rights and claiming that this is the same thing as richard dawkins being a little snippy about religion. that's pretty close to how it works here as well. well, except "we" cite the constitution and most american's don't really know who dawkins is, but yeah, same shit. freedom of religion means the crazies get rights too. just be glad you live in a country where this shit is unusual.

The EU laws on religious freedom don't say that the gubmint has to certify acid trips from lala land as proper educational certificates.

Yeah, I read that. That seems to be specifically referring to school admissions policies rather than the exam content.

it also talks about their right to teach their curriculum. in fact, that's the bulk of it really. the admissions policy is only covered in one small section. anyway, i would think that if they have been granted the right to teach that curriculum than they would have the right to set their exams based on it.

Oh, they have the right to set their exams any way they like. Turn up in a bugs bunny outfit and you get an A. That doesn't mean that the accreditation body has to assign it the same weight as an A level.

I thought it was funny. My kids had a lesson in a public school in America about the religions of the world. They talked about Buddism, Islam, etc. Christianity was never mentioned. I think kids are smarter than we think. They can handle different view points in order to make an informed decision of their own. A loving parent would help them see the world they will eventually be living in on their own.

Not when they're not being given the information to make an informed decision. Loving parents wouldn't allow their kids to go to a "school" that taught this shit as science.

I don't know anything about this organization you were talking about. I just wish ideas could be presented in as much detail as possible. ie:

1. Science has a theory of Evolution:
1.reason
2. reason
etc.

2. There are other people who think for example Creationism.(I'm sure there are other thoughts on the beginning of the world.)

1. reason
2. reason
etc

It might give someone a reason to want to explore this further. If one of my sons wanted to be a scientist and study evolution I would be all for it. I don't think all the pieces are there yet. That is why it is still the "theory" of evolution.

But I can't speak of the organization in your article.

Doesn't the UK have Christianity as its National Religion?
