Off Topic Threads

Okay, I'm as guilty as the next person for making off topic conversation from time to time, but lately I think it's getting a little out of hand. There are a few threads that I'm really interested in reading that end up just being pages and pages of certain people talking to each other - could they not PM each other?

I'm ranting. Go ahead and hate me. Frustrated and sick.

You contribute a lot to the threads. You write great stories.

Your posts are usually sensible and to the point and worth reading.

If it will do you any good, have a virtual hug. You are free to decline. Virtual hugs are non-contaminating.

Well, how about we all, instead of complaining, start posting new threads that we find interesting and at least rather relevant to topic. This is the Author's Hangout. We're supposed to focus on topics that concern us as authors. I like the occasional joke thread - and I've submitted to many of them myself! - and I also like threads where authors discuss stories, recommend stories they like, etc. It doesn't matter if it's Lit-stories, Tolstoj-novels, or, in the case of me and my fellow Potteroticans, Harry Potter-related fan fics, with or without erotica.

Let's focus on these - but also be patient when one or another Personal Issue thread jumps in. If they are not interesting to everyone, they WILL die out by themselves eventually.

It's better to light a candle, than to curse over the darkness.

Lit-personae: please let this pass. Everyone's made a variety of apologies. If anyone finds inanity, insanity or irritation they need only walk away. Just look at the bottom of any thread page for proof that people know how to ignore what they don't like. OK, off my humble soapbox. P.

As well as MG being too quiet, DurtGurl hasn't been on line since the 3rd June because I sent DG a PM which hasn't been read yet.

If I don't see both of them posting soon, I might write another Chapter of The Worst Chain Story Ever.
