Obama in Berlin: Climate change is the “global threat of our time”

What do these people have in common...

Al Gore
Barry Obama

They're idiots, of course.

If climate change and desertification continue it will bring widespread poverty, disease, desperation, and death across the planet. Drought and famine will lead to the planet being unable to sustain today's population plus another 3 billion. Not enough water, much less food. Overfishing, erosion of otherwise usable farm land. Increasing desperation bringing on more desperate acts such as wars.

If there's a greater global threat than this I'd like to hear it.

Liberalism.

UK’s Daily Telegraph: ‘Barack Obama Bombs In Berlin’

No fawning lap doggie “reporting” here.

In stark contrast to that of his presidential predecessors, Barack Obama’s message on Wednesday was pure mush, another clichéd “citizens of the world” polemic with little substance. This was a speech big on platitudes and hopeless idealism, while containing much that was counter-productive for the world’s superpower. Ultimately it was little more than a laundry list of Obama’s favourite liberal pet causes, including cutting nuclear weapons, warning about climate change, putting an end to all wars, shutting Guantanamo, ending global poverty, and backing the European Project. It was a combination of staggering naiveté, the appeasement of America’s enemies and strategic adversaries, and the championing of more big government solutions.

This is what normal people see and hear when Obama gives a speech.

it means ITS BULLSHIT

Like ALL LIBERALISM is

Global desertification, droughts, famine, overpopulation, and increasing acts of desperation (ie wars and religious zealotry) have nothing to do with liberalism. You just don't like that my point was accurate; you have no comeback and you never will. You most likely agree with Obama but can't admit it because you're blinded by your hate.

Well truth be told, most of the famine, disease and death will be in places populated by brown people, while places filled with rich white people will live on and write about how God sent a fortuitous plague which opened new lands to discovery and exploitation - allowing us to relieve our burgeoning population problems, solve hunger and allowing new energy sources to be explored.

Climate change is a ongoing process that will occur regardless of anything man or his political systems can do. What was once desert is now fertile land and that which was once fertile land is now desert. The earth and it's climate could give a shit less about man.

All that you say WILL occur, who cares? Siphoning off tax money to pay for ill advised government boondoggles won't change a thing. And the climate change itself will take care of the population problem.

This isn't about 'caring', it's all about the centralization of power.

If Climate Change is going on all the time, and as has been often stated - it works on a geological time frame - then shouldn't mankind (as the first known species with the ability to reason) do as much as possible to try keeping the climate within the range that allows Man to thrive on the planet?

If cutting our emissions might allow a few more years - shouldn't we take them? If regulating the Cod catch can keep an important food species from dropping to extinction levels - shouldn't we do that?

Is today's dollar more important than tomorrow's?

Global warming will result in more rain.

Beep, beep! There's more camouflage for sneaky roadrunners and wily coyotes in the deserts thanks to rising carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere, a new study finds.

Between 1982 and 2010, leaf cover on plants rose by 11 percent in arid areas, including the southwestern United States, Australia's Outback, the Middle East and some parts of Africa, the study found. The results were published May 15 in the journal Geophysical Research Letters.

Who says the world doesn't adapt to new realities?

Whether or not climate change is entirely natural or exacerbated by human activity doesn't change the factual nature of Obama's statement though. It's not really his statement though, he's just repeating what scientists have been saying for a very long time.

And you can say that climate change will control population by itself but the cost in misery, death, and things like war could be catastrophic. And those things will deeply impact America either directly, indirectly, or most likely both.

The human body and our ability to grow the foodstuffs we need to live determine the range. The world does adapt - by extinction of creatures which cannot live under the new climate.

Do you enjoy pollution enough to die? You don't think Cigarette smoke kills? You like the Black Lung among miners? All pollution is those on a slower but global scale.
