I think the aca will collapse under its own weight. I was opposed to delaying its implementation as it was an overtly political move. The Democrats knew they would get destroyed. I think the majority of us will experience higher cost, restricted access and lower quality.
Health care does need reform. It is too expensive. I was sure that Mr. Obama would make Tort Reform the very first step in his health care reform program. He lost me, many other citizens and health care providers when he took tort reform off the table.
I think really significant reform could be accomplished within the existing framework.

As a foreigner, I don't understand the US health system. What I hear though, is that many, many people go broke or bankrupt if they have a health problem because the cost of healthcare is so high.
Why would any developed nation allow people to get into hundreds of thousands of $ debt, just because they were unlucky enough to get sick?
I admit, our health system in Australia isn't perfect - hell, people wait for years on the punlic system just to get simple operations like a knee replacement - but every single citizen who fronts up to an ED gets treated for free, regardless of their financial situation.
Basic health care is provided, and ongoing care is free as well, so long as you are prepared to deal with wait times, etc.
And all it costs you is a 1.5% levy on your yearly tax.

Of course, each person has the option of taking out Private Health cover..... but even WITH that insurance, you can still get treated free at a public hospital.

To an outsider, the American system seems awfully biased - can't afford the outrageous costs and you die, sort of thing.

I think what you are starting to see is the elasticity of welfare biting back. meaning, the working class is getting pissed off at the obama class and their consumption and demand for more and more entitlements.

We have generations upon generations which has lived off entitlements. just go into any housing project and you see slaves. these people exchange their freedom and freewill for their vote and its this vote that has put obama in power.

America, for the most part leads in the creation of new drugs and medical proedures/devices. when you remove the capitalist side of health care there will be less drugs and other medical advances.

capitalism and competition drives humans to create and be successful.

this is why America's standerds of living is higher than compared to other nations. now, I can see how some do not agree with this but if you remove those that voted for obama we have a total different America. obama supporters by vast majority only want entitlements and have no desire to work or better their lives. they just want things handed to them for free. free education, free car, free house, free food, free health insurance, free health care .....

jessie jackson and al sharpton bring people down and pray on the weak. if we remove their followers, or force them to work we save the tax payer hundred of billions of dollars. welfare is not a career yet obama and jackson demand for welfare to become a career path.
