that boy is on a roll.

“If towns remain divided—if Catholics have their schools and buildings and Protestants have theirs, if we can’t see ourselves in one another and fear or resentment are allowed to harden—that too encourages division and discourages cooperation,” the US president said.

or maybe he really means an end to religion as a whole, more likely.

Did you forget the part where he calls for an end to Catholic education?

And he's right, our religious division divides us. Just ask any priest or protestant minister.

But nowadays the division is not between Catholics and Protestants, it is between those who are deeply and traditionally religious (including Jews, but not Muslims) and those who are not.

Or perhaps he was speaking in Northern Ireland.

so to offer up a simple solution, just say no to religion. channeling nancy reagan now? maybe he should try that in syria too.

brilliant.

Except for Islam, of course.

Wow, so much for diversity.

This guy is the most radical extremist "President" ever, not by a mile but by a marathon. The ONLY reason He's able to get away with it is because of the racial teflon He seems to have. People only see His color, and don't think through His statements or policies.

See post number 15.

i'm an angry white male, remember?

Pale skinned people with penises are less likely to be "angry" than almost any other group. The fact that the media has been able to string those three words together as some real social phenomena proves how powerful they are.

Do you actually know any pale skinned people with penises who are any angrier on average than anybody else? Just because someone disagrees with the political policies of the day, doesn't make them "angry." Just more propaganda from the media.

So you would ban all religions? Interesting.

He be better off worrying about chicago gang bangers killing each other because one wore red and one wore black.

I read that as meaning that there should be no Protestant schools. I think the Catholics are safe.

* rubs rosary.

You do know he was talking at one of the very few integrated schools in Northern Ireland, right?

actually his location is irrelevant. why would a foreign dignitary give a public speech using the plural "we" and not allow for the fact that his words would be translated to his own homeland? it's very easy to assume that he was being universal, and not specific to his audience.
