I was reading a think piece this week past (and I even think I posted some excerpts) which claims the upcoming generations are prepared to enjoy a lower standard of living because they put no premium on wealth; that they will put the good of the group ahead of being an individual. This means that the culture war is probably already over having been won from the colleges down to the K-level. My child isn't like that, she is fully aware that if she is to have land and horses, that she needs income.



If there is any to be had in the brave new world of the compassionate social state.

Did the author cite any studies showing this attitudinal change in the upcoming generations? Was he armed with a lot of facts, did he take a large sample of each generation he was referring to...or was he just thinking out loud with no real evidence of this sea change in our culture? Do Mark Zuckerberg and his buddies in Silicon Valley know about this?
