Occupy Wall Street Police Brutality Beating Protesters

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLHdxQlBPG4

" A video posted hours later to YouTube shows the officer wielding the baton with two hands -- like a baseball bat --
as he swings at and strikes the demonstrators. At one point, a woman can be heard shrieking in the background."

"It is unclear from the video what provoked the officer's actions, but HuffPost's Matt Sledge,
who was at the scene, reports the baton swinging took place after a handful of people
had been arrested for attempting to cross a police barricade."

"Fox 5, the local affiliate in New York, reported that police officers had struck the station's journalists with batons
and doused them with pepper spray
....Fox 5 photographer Roy Isen was hit in the eyes by mace, and Fox 5 reporter Dick Brennan
was hit by what he believes was an officer's baton. Both were all right and continued to
cover the protests and arrests."

(Many streets were blocked off with metal police barricades.)
(Subway stations in the area were closed.)

9:46: It seems that there may be another march on...Nick reports a mass of maybe 1,000 leaning
toward heading to Wall Street to get arrested, "but the debate will likely go on.

More videos are coming in. There's a video posted to YouTube now making the rounds on Twitter that appears to show
a NYPD cop beating Occupy Wall Street protesters aggressively with a nightstick.

We're attempting to get more details about this.
(The YouTube poster says the incident occurred today around 8:45 p.m., and also included the use of pepper spray.)

10:28: Here's a cop saying "my little nightstick's gonna (...get some...) a workout tonight."
(What would the completed phrase have sounded like,
if the NYPD did not notice he was being filmed?)

10:38: Apparently, Fox 5 photographer Roy Isen was hit in the eyes with mace,
and reporter Dick Brennan was hit "by what he believes was an officer's baton."

article title- 23 Arrested Wednesday in Wall St. Protest

The total number of people arrested on Wednesday at the Occupy Wall Street protest was 23, the police said Thursday morning.

(Village Voice source puts it closer to 27 or more.)

Most of those arrested were charged with disorderly conduct, said Paul J. Browne, the head police spokesman.

They included five people who rushed a police line at Broadway and Wall Street just before 8 p.m., Mr. Browne said.

One of the five was charged with second-degree riot, a misdemeanor.

Four others were arrested at State and Bridge Streets at 9:30 p.m., including one charged with assault after he knocked a police officer off his scooter, Mr. Browne said.

But some witnesses said they saw several police officers drive their scooters into the crowd in an apparent attempt to disperse those who had gathered.

Did FOX news have anything to say after their own people were pepper sprayed and hit with clubs? FOX was quick to blame the girls for it.
