I grew up in a very liberal atheist household. Never went as a family. But nudity wasn’t a ‘hidden’ thing.
First time I went fully nude was with my now husband. But topless is pretty normal in Europe.

The comfort with nudity in Europe and all the topless beaches is great.

You should do it. It's very liberating. Most of the people there are just ordinary folks like you see on the street everyday only naked. People on nude beaches strike up conversations just like those on clothed beaches. The ‘weird and pervy’ comment I made was to the comment that someone said my kids were ‘lucky’ , in a suggestive sexual connotation, to see their parents naked.
I, like you, feel nudity in a family situation is healthy and normal.
