She posted a thread attacking a woman for the way she spoke a word, and then couldn't come up with anything more substantial when called on it. Fuck...I'm Canadian, have read about 2 articles relating to this election and I can come up with something more to insult whats-her-nuts with than her saying "nucular". Which is basically what I said to her in my first post...her inability to argue something even remotely intelligent back, just cemented my opinion of her.

And if you've read a thread of hers that has something more intelligent than how sweet Obama is with his kids, and therefore MUST be president, or how Palin mispronounces a word, and therefore MUST not be vp, then you're lucky.

Well, I was able to come up with what it "symbolizes" although the actual pronunciation may not be all that important.

I have actually seen her post many threads that have something more intelligent to say. I think she has many times spoken from her gut, instinct and personal feelings. The political is the personal to many people.

Now, my only advice would be that we don't need a million threads with the trivial stuff. Maybe create one master Palin thread and then post the links as you get upset - or a few. Unless it's a big issue - maybe not.

For example, this thread could have been placed into an overall thread about how Palin is not qualified when it comes to foreign policy where it was "as an aside" Palin pronounces nuclear - nukular.

The real funny thing about this is the text of Palin's speech at the Convention said "New clear." Her speech writers were trying to convince her not to say stuff.

(also indicates all she was doing was reading someone else's words - she read them well - but they weren't her own thoughts - WHO's BEING SEXIST HERE?????)

From what I've seen of this woman, she sure doesn't strike me as qualified to lead a zoo tour, never mind a country. I just think that if you're (general you, of course) seriously trying to convince people of that point of view, or sway their opinion, then you need to come up with less trivial issues. I realize that Literotica is not the country - not even a good sampling of the population. However, assuming this "fight" is not just being fought on this site, one needs to not do their cause a disservice by looking like a dingbat when arguing their POV.

There are a lot of people out there who don't have a fucking clue what's going on in their country - I know there are many here in Canada that wouldn't know a politician if he sat in their lap, and many here at Lit that can't get their minds off the last pair of tits they saw. Most of those don't bother voting coz they're too lazy to go to the hall down the road, but on the off chance that one might, and you want that one to vote your way, then giving them actual information, and not making it seem like it's a bunch of gradeschoolers bickering, is more likely to work.

I know it's a more emotional thing in the US, siimply because of the reality that rights can - and have - be taken away, if certain parties are in power. Here, they babble occasionally about doing away with abortion, and doing away with the gay marriage, but it probably will never happen. We might be slightly more restrictive in some ways - but we also don't sit on a time bomb every 4 yrs wondering what rights the new guy will take from us. So, emotion is to be expected I suppose. Taking the step to hysteria...not so much.

And if they had been her own thoughts and she wrote them down herself...would she have used a computer word processor or a yellow note pad? Using a pen? Because it seems to be an "issue" with some people here who like their candidates to be "real people" and not "elitist."
