Now voting doesnt work?

Just checked. I can't vote logged in, but can as anon(so the first new story listed of the day got a free 5 from me)

Now even if there is a way to do it using another web browser are people going to try it? Nope.

So anonymous is the biggest issue on this site when it comes to bombing and other issues and its them that are just fine in this latest "glitch" and the people who have ID's who generally are not the trolls now cannot vote and going into day two.

Wonderful.

Proves THE MEANING OF ANYTHING IS THE OUTCOME YOU GET.

proves the lack of appreciation the site has for the people who are the source of its income.

Because shit like this happens and it is what it is its growing pains. But no announcement, no "Yeah I know this sucks, we're doing what we can" No trying to find a way to make it up to the new stories that are not getting anywhere near the votes they would, no anything.

Whatever, there's no point in pointing out lousy business practice and service to lemmings and bootlickers

Its like me and gardening, 95% of what I do aint in any book, and 95% of my success is dum fuckin luck.

Give it some time, folks - if you want change to happen, you have to put up with some growing pains. If you really really really care, save your best stories for when the site stabilizes. Anyway, your readers will catch up with you!

So that's why I haven't gotten more 5's. I am so relieved.... I was starting to believe that I sucked, but it was the voting system all along. :)

That would be a good idea-saving your stories-if there was any forewarning this would happen. Or they could have held back releasing any stories today knowing there was an issue.

But you don't know in advance. And things do not "catch up" with you. People who have you bookmarked might get around to you in a few days, but you have a limited window in the new story list and day one is the largest voting day by far.

I got a reply from Laurel this morning. They're aware of the problem, and they're working on it.

Yeah all those little pesky bugs that slip in when you're trying to upgrade or add modification to make things better. Always hated that when it happened.

Yeah, just today they updated our "productivity" software and broke it badly. No email or IM for most of the day.

It was glorious, I got to do work without being interrupted :)

Funny how that works...except when it's something you personally paid for and the update breaks it so you can't use it until they send that emergency patch and then that breaks something else while not really fixing the first thing they broke and so on, ad infinitum.

(eg. EA, Dice, Battlefield 4)
