All that build up, all that buying, all that anticipation, all that cooking, all that over indulging and all that stress...

Do you still have to go to work the next day?

That's inhumane...

:D

Yup..

But it may be for just an hour or two depending on how busy it is... And even then it won't be a hard days work.

I don't. I'm currently unemployed. Nobody will hire me because I don't have any work experience, but I can't get work experience because nobody will hire me.

Fuckers.

Well I got all of it, apart from the cooking and over indulging . I seem to have missed out on that.
Looks like beans on toast for lunch today.

Yup, regualr work day. But there wasn't all that much build up, or buying, or cooking, or over indulging and I'm not going to miss the stress.

Only in p_p_'s world does joy=stress, appeasement=peace and dictator=buddy...

He got all the boys RISK and all the girl's got Ibson's Doll House.

He bought 40 copies of Catcher in the Rye for himself. Wrapped them all in aluminum foil and buried them in his back yard to await the coming U.S. Invasion. He's finally realized that the French, Italians, and Russians are going to be of little, or no, help!

[Edited because it's CatCher in the Rye, not Catheter in your Rye...]

i could of been at work today for time and a half but decided to be home :) working tomorrow though

we usually see relations on boxing day but my mother is working today so we're not bothering :)

we have an irish family on my mothers side and they always get to loud and to much drink and lots of kids ... im happy to have just another day at home

I have to work. But it won't be for a full day, and there will only be four people there.

I don't know why we're even open.

I work at a small newspaper, and there will be no one there from Production or from Advertising. Just the boss, one reporter, the circulation manager/receptionist, and me (the bookkeeper/proofreader). And the guy who drives the van delivering papers will be doing so.

You know how it goes...

At first they look at it, not quite believing what they're seeing, then seconds later eyes pop wide open and they look around at everyone to make sure they can touch it, then when they know they can there's no stopping them...

Squeals (and this particular little girl has a habit of shaking her arms from the shoulder to her clenched fists held out in front of her when she's really excited) followed by...well a lot of noise...

She insisted on having her food sitting on it, and watching her cartoons sitting on it and would have gone to bed sitting on it until Mum finally stepped in and with a firmness that only a mother has took it away with the minimum of fuss...

Mind you by that time the toddler was tired out...

I can honestly say it was a success...

Happy New Year...
