Most of the Dems have opted for political cowardice, but the ones that are speaking out aren't pulling any punches. Rep. Pete Stark from California said yesterday: "I think unleashing 3,000 smart bombs against the city of Baghdad in the first several days of the war ... to me, if those were unleashed against the San Francisco Bay Area, I would call that an act of extreme terrorism."

The Democrat from my district - Austin - has also come out against the war.

I believe that the Administration's fixation with regime change in
Baghdad is diverting precious intelligence and other resources that
we need to protect American families from what is a very genuine
threat. Despite its clever marketing campaign attempting to link
9/11 with Saddam Hussein, as of this very moment the
Administration he has offered not one shred of evidence to make
this connection stick. Nor has it demonstrated why Iraq represents
any greater danger of attacking now than it did on September 10th,
or back when we were supplying them aid. Iraq, crisscrossed with
international weapons inspectors, does not even pose such a threat
at this moment that its next-door neighbor, Turkey, is willing to
challenge it.

Lloyd Doggett

I do love Lloyd.

Lloyd's lapdog nearly got the shit beaten out of him by the APD tonight.

When all the cameras swooped in they stopped pushing him.

Got home too late to see the news, Spin. I'll check the paper in the morning.

At the capitol building the guy was really softly spoken, he talked about some HR's and said some stuff about Lloyd and that was about it.

When we comandeered the bridge and the cops told us to leave, he went up and started to talk to the cops who immediatley started pushing him back. He fucking exploded! He was in four or five cops faces yelling at them, even making them back away.

It was .

I left before the head crackers came in. I watched them move in. Scary.

Sounds like just another fun-filled evening at the Capitol, Spin. ;)

The San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose Basic Trading Area has over 7million inhabitants. That's the 4th largest in America. The Baghdad Botox Trading Area has about 5million.

Yeah, already spending too much time down there.

P.S. Wesley Willis is coming to town! Kick fuckin' ass!

I heard Chafee give a good interview today--don't feel like looking for it but a little hint is found in this:

STATEMENT OF SENATOR LINCOLN CHAFEE ON THE CONFLICT IN IRAQ:

"As our fighting soldiers advance into the valleys of the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers, our thoughts and prayers are with them. We wish them success in their mission and to return home safely. This land is the famed 'Cradle of Civilization.' May their victory lead to a rebirth of nations resolving their differences in a civilized manner."

He's crying over something that probably will not happen because of the brilliance of our leaders, the ability of the CIA, and the resolve that the Iraqi people can finally see that they will, indeed be freed from this man group of men. The fact that they put th hit on Saddam and changed their plans when they saw little or no resistance* coming from the Iraqi military. They've even gone out of their way to get pre-approved surrenders. Just the hand-wring from the left that we've come to expect from Armeggadon-fearing cowards amoung you everytime we stand up to ANY rag-tag group in the middle-east. Yet you spit on religion even while adhereing with breathless fear to it's prophesies...

Again that's foot in mouth.

It's not treason, nor un-American. Just plain putting your foot into your mouth...

* Which brings up a point I brought up like a year ago it seems but Barry Faber pointed out that arab culture demands a token gesture to satisfy pride. We see that pattern repeated again here as groups of Iraqi's make a token defense with a few random shots before surrendering. You should go back and read his work and see just how well he has called the current action months ago.
