masochism...

it occured to me then that i use pain to both hold me in the moment when i would otherwise dissociate and also to distance myself from reality...

in that moment there is only desire for pain to continue and desire for pain to cease...

there is such a conflict within my mind when being sexual and the more uncomfortable i am the more extreme my masochism...

thoughts??

"and the more uncomfortable i am the more extreme my masochism..."

substitute the words "pleasure i feel" for "uncomfortable i am"
it makes more sense that way :) doesn't it?

Are you saying, dolf, that you are uncomfortable with your sexuality, or with sexuality in a D/s relationship, or some other kind of relationship?

do you assume that being uncomfortable in an emotional way doesnt pertain to masochism? Look at definition number 2 up there...a taste for suffering. Maybe you arent compensating with the physical, maybe the emotional is just sorta foreplay for your masochistic self. Or maybe it just feels good too.

i'm doing a very bad job of explaining...again!!! 3.30am is my excuse today...

if i'm uncomfortable with the person, the circumstances etc i'm more masochistic.
{ok, obviously i should avoid situations that i find uncomfortable in that sense...}
the more i feel i shouldn't/don't want to be there, the more i enjoy the pain...
