why do that? when you can just have an open marriage and stay together...that way the marriage never becomes boring, and you never have to worry about your spouse going behind your back

We've been in the swinging scene for a lot of years and although it has changed some (mainly the average age seems to be lower and lower, year after year. We notice now it seems 20-somethings are the majority in the scene now as opposed to 10-15 years ago when it seemed predominately 35+)

The most common thing I noticed in all those years was that the "older" crowd entered into swinging because after 20+ years of marriage it'd grown stale and boring, they started playing with other couples and/or singles, started fulfilling fantasies, getting some variety and the passion reignited, the boredom allieviated, marriage saved. Whereas the 20-somethings nowdays enter it to have that same variety from the get-go of their budding marriages preventing that staleness and boredom from ever happening in the first place. (I have no "hard" data, it's just some 15 years of observation, questioning, and personal experience speaking for me)

We're extremely open minded in just about everything. For example, say we meet a sexy bi woman and not only are we are all extremely attracted to each other but we all connect on an emotional and intellectual level and she wanted to move in with us and the three of us live together as one happy family loving and caring for each other equally. We would definately be all for it because we three are enriching each others lives...granted that is something that is rare still, but it happens and is slowly & steadly becoming a little more common year after year (I wish I had the reference but I read an article about that in a newspaper...Chicago I think, it was 2-3 years ago and the focus of the article was how it was becoming more common and the spotlight was on a lesbian couple that put a personals ad in the local newspaper singles column for a guy, said guy was basically to become their husband and perform the normal husbandly duties including sex with both of them).
