Nose Piercing

I agree with you, warrior queen! I should have thought about it more before I got mine done, but now I will definately keep my friends from doing it anywhere besides a professional piercer!

it is rather ironic that if we go to get an immunisation - essentially a sterile procedure - we expect our practitioner to have qualifications and experience.
but most people are perfectly happy to allow an unskilled 16 year old retail assistant with a piercing gun, to shoot holes wherever.

Hey! At Wal-mart we have to be 18 year old unskilled incompitants to pierce ears ^_~

just a quick point here - you can always tell a person who has had ear cartilage pierced with a gun, because that ear will always be 'fatter' around the piercing site (no matter how long ago it was done) than the non-pierced side.
the result of the trauma and brutality of the gun, i'm afraid.

Yup mine is like that. It was done 2 years ago and only in the last few weeks, when I changed the earring to a 22 carat sleeper ring, has it healed properly. It would get painful and irritated no matter what I put in it (stud or sleeper). I've had NO problem with the studs in my earlobes, which all healed within 6-8 weeks.

I had a sterling silver stud in it at one stage and when I took it out was horrified to see how black it was

WQ, whatever advise I gave on this thread, I got directly from my piercer. That's how he explained it to me when I asked him about my own problems with it (and eventually decided to remove it only two months after it was done).

So if you want to discount what I've said, fine, it just came from a professional piercer.

I personally don't discount any good advice, and it's good to know that yours came from your piercer. Thank you for sharing that. :)

i apologise to you personally if i ticked you off, but i do not apologise for getting miffed at the fact that what was posted was not correct.
