Sorry - but arresting and jailing someone for being a racist fool is a sad day for the English government. I am glad to hear the others shout her down. Sounded like the way FREE speech is supposed to work.

she was creating a very loud, very public nuisance. it's shit enough traveling to work on overcrowded, highly expensive tube trains without some gobby bitch mouthing off and attempting to intimidate with her 'free speech'. she's banned form using the network now, since she can't be trusted to control her own behaviour and show respect for fellow passengers enduring the daily commute.

I would have no problem with her being thrown off the train and even charged with disturbing the peace. She was charged with: racially aggravated intentional harassment. If that doesn't offend your notion of free speech I hope it does others. If this woman had made the EXACT same rant against the price of petro she would never have been arrested. Instead her rant is that of a racist fool and she is jailed for it. Freighting.
I am actually encouraged by what happened. She spouted off ignorant statements. Others shouted back with their own speech. The video made the rounds and her positions look ridiculous. That is how it should have ended.
While I understand your frustration at the pains of modern life, I will paraphrase Ben Franklin, those who value convenience and quiet over freedom deserve neither.
