non-sexual amateur fiction sites?

As of late, I find my writing taking me down newer and different roads. Maybe I am just tired of writing sex scenes – or maybe I’m just getting real jealous of all the great sex my characters are having while I am not – but lately, I tend to be writing less sexual, more mainstream pieces.

While I am not at all opposed to posting in Lites ‘non-erotic’ section, I am looking for a site that deals solely with non-sexual amateur fiction and whose audience is not expecting titillation.

Does anyone know of any?

I have found a few but the technical quality of these sites fail mightily in comparison to what I have grown accustomed to here at Lite.

What I would love would be if Lite had a sister site for mainstream fiction. A site without sex, but still the quality and commitment to amateur fiction Laurel and Manu have mastered!!!!!

I don't know if Your interested in Star Trek, however taldren.com has a forum with some verygood stories over there.

as far as other fiction sites, I'm not really sure of any right now.

Something I'd very much like to see as well, but I've no idea personally.

I dwelt on a few "non-erotic" writers' websites before finding Lit. However, I've gotten more help, feedback and better writing advice/tips here. Also, the readership for those sites is limited pretty much to the authors who put their work uo for discussion. Seems there aren't many people who cruise amateur writers' sites for good reading  So they have drawbacks.

But there's a lot to learn from them, too.

Here's the addy for one of the better sites I found:

penwrights

This site allows 2 submissions per week, and accepts everything from poems to novels. They expect you to provide critiques and comments for the other members as well. They have forums and resources that are very helpful.

If you want to do some searching on your own, here's a good jumping-off point:

Google Directory: Writers' Resources

From there, you get a really good vantage point at which to find any number of writing-related sites, including the kind you're looking for.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the links RT66Girl!!:) Penwrites seems very interesting to me, have you used it?

Earl, perhaps if enough of us expresessed and intrest in such a website, it would be considered. Perhaps.

Hey M.A. :)

You're welcome :D

I like Penwrights, and yes, I've used it. They're a pretty good bunch over there. There's a core group of regulars who do most of the critiquing (sound familiar?) along with a fair number who just pop in and out.

Btw, I like the idea of a non-erotic sister site for Lit, too. It wouldn't have nearly as many readers. However, I would wager that with enough links to it from the erotic side, along with a dose of promotion, it would garner more readers than any other non-erotic fiction site.

I think you are right. Especially if writers from Lit. use the same Noms there for their non-erotic stories, as they do for their erotic ones on Lit.

Naturally, if your Nom is Cuming2@69 that may not be an option.
