Anyone posted many non-erotic stories on here? How do they fare?

I have several in that category and have had no problems. Well received for the most part.

There are a some very good writers in there.

I've only posted one chapter of one of my works to the Non-Erotic category. It turned out to be one of my highest-rated pieces (4.7), though on the bare minimum of ratings (10). I imagine that publicizing this will only have the effect that it'll get 1-bombed, thus turning it into one of my lowest-rated pieces. C'est la vie.

I published The Case of the Richman's Wife in Non-Erotic, but it has erotic elements in it. I published Written in Blood in Novels and Novellas, which also has more mainstream eroticism than sex.

Voting and comments have all been good on both of them. Written in Blood has only been viewed 7200ish times and has a 4.24 rating. Only 6455 reads on Richman's Wife but 4.6 rating.

I have quite a few stories posted in non-erotic. They do well rating-wise but have lower views than other categories. The negative comments I've received have been from other authors.

Authors can suck as readers! All company in the AH, with only a few exceptions, aren't in the sucking category. Unless they suck dick, tit, or pussy, by choice.

That wasn't my experience, but each to their own.

Some of the nastiest comments that I have received by email came from writers here and on another site. But none of the writes I have encountered in AH have been unkind. Well, one but shall remain nameless, and he gave me a very nice compliment on one story, which I found odd and out of character for him.

Another writer in the AH and I have had several bouts of arguments and exchanged insults. But those are equal parts, him and I. We haven't been uncivil in some time. I think, mostly, he just ignores me these days. I'm not sure what's worse, being called a child writer who has no business being here or being ignored by him.

The negative comments started back in 2009 when one of my non-erotic stories won first place in the Winter Holiday Contest.

OH, yeah, that'll bring out the haters, I'm sure. Just take it with a grain of salt, and know it's jealousy.

That's a bit brutal. Sorry to hear that.

Thanks. I hadn't been here long then, and only started writing in 2007. The comments made me rethink why I was here. Encouragement from authors (who became my mentors) helped but each time I post another story into the non-erotic category, I see those comments again. That's one of the reasons I don't post on the forum much either. As one author told me, if I can't write erotica, I don't belong here.

In my experience, so long as you choose the right category for the story, non-erotic content is well accepted here.

Crabs in a bucket. They are miserable and they neg on other writers to make themselves feel better.

Delete the comments and move on.

Most of them were either through e-mail or PMs here on the site. And thanks, I did delete them.

Yes there are... 'Dinsmore' for one, and 'BurntRedstone' for another. Sometimes it's just nice to read a well-written story with no explicit sex.
