LOL, yes those are the suger things. I'd never heard of them before I saw that picture. This is ridiculous, hang on... getting the full name from the file... Sugargliders. There. Have you ever owned one? They are very cute.
Thank you! The memories are in there somewhere but finding them is tough sometimes. I have never had a Sugarglider but a friend of my husband did and it was a cute little bugger. His was very, very nocturnal so it's a good thing he worked second shift.

They remind me of bats and I like flittermice. I've been meaning to get around to building a bat house but haven't yet.

Oh you should if you know how to make one! I love bat houses but havn't been around one in many years. There was one at the science summer camp I attended for many years. I loved to watch them fly out at dusk.

Wow, I just clicked your link, Lava. I see what you mean about complicated. It looks like a 3-d maze inside that thing. Do the bats really need something that deluxe?

No, there are simpler models out there. The one I linked is a deluxe bat condo. There are also prefabricated metal houses that only require assembly but what's the fun in that?

Is your picture a couple down of the rusty metal thing in the countryside a turret left over from WWII or am I way off base?

You have an interesting idea of "fun," Lava! :D

About that other picture: all I know about it is that in the title are the words, "Dynamited Dome." I'll run a file search later today in my images folders to see if a similiarly numbered image gives any more clues. I liked that picture because I had no clue about what it was depicting. Maybe someone else reading this will.

Stirbird............ I love you for your intellect, imagination, cultural intregrity, and just being you..............

I don't know what miyazaki is, but it seems an appropriate mystery word to describe a mysterious object.

To Lava: I did my search, and all I came up with was that photos in the same number series were depicting scenes from the SanFrancisco Bay area. If you ever find out what that thing is, let me know, OK?

How very miyazaki.

In a way.
It is. It reminds me of one of the cottages in Howl's Moving Castle.

Miyazaki is this highly overrated anime director who has lots of Medieval style structures and nature themes in his work.

He did Princess Mononoke.

Stirbird, you had a great "retro art" and "erotic art" thread. I just went back to look at them, and all the great pics are gone.

Yes, that's true. :( I use various image hosting services. One of them just disappeared (along with all the pics, of course). Another banned me, probably because I posted porn. That's why the pics went away.

That's a shame, you had some great stuff there.

It looked like you put a lot of work in it too.

Oh well, that's the transitoriness of the online world. There will always be new pics and new threads. :)
