Well I would like to wish all my American friends a very Happy Thanksgiving ...

years ago I was lucky enough to celebrate your Thanksgiving with a wonderful American family who opened their hearts and their home to me ....

it was a wonderful experience that i will always remember and will always treasure ...

i remember thinking how different your celebration was from ours ... there was a turkey decoration on the door <yikes we never do that in Canada>, yams <i had never eaten them before or since>, and a very special "holiday" feeling to it because it is soooooo close to Christmas ... (our Thanksgiving was October 8!!) i love that ...

and guess what ... the traffic this morning coming into work was lighter than usual ... so you can be sure there are a few Americans in the area celebrating ...

all the best to all of you and your very wonderful holiday ...

You can actually get away with making these comments without getting slapped....at the Thanksgiving table, that is....

Talk about a huge breast!

Tying the legs together keeps the inside moist.

It's Cool Whip time!

If I don't undo my pants, I'll burst!

Whew, that's one terrific spread!

I'm in the mood for a little dark meat.

Are you ready for seconds yet?

It's a little dry, do you still want to eat it?

Just wait your turn, you'll get some!

Don't play with your meat.

Do you think you'll be able to handle all these people at once?

I didn't expect everyone to come at once!

You still have a little bit on your chin.

How long will it take after you stick it in?

Izzy
You have me in a tizzy
I have no Canadian
To give me bacon

Good gravy you say
No, not today

Long time no Iz
No erotic miss thorne
So I found myself another
She's a Canadian Goddess

Merry Thanksgiving

Izzy,

You've shown me a whole new view of Thanksgiving and I luv it.

Will listen for these comments at dinner and smile as I hear them and think of your post.

Isabella

Ms Thorne, you have an excellent sense of humor and are right on the money.

I will use this to wish every one a Happy Thanksgiving, in addition to the chuckling I am sure is now in everyone's throat!

Be good, eat in moderation and drive carefully!

Thanks, Izzy!

I've already had my first piece of pumpkin pie for the day (have to test it before serving it to family every year ;)) and I've been on the phone with family members. Some are first driving home today, so I'm looking forward to their arrival late this afternoon.

I have high hopes that it will be a great holiday and a great weekend!

As the children are running in circles, rather than put their toys away...

As the pies are nearly done, and *sniff*, over done!

As the phone keeps on ringing and everyone's plans are putting dinner back by quarter hours....

As I roll with the punches, I am thankful.

I am thankful for all the things that I ahve listed previously, and thankful for our friends at lit.

I am thankful for Miss Isabelle, who during the most difficult of times, always manages to post with such enthusiasm, postive energy and zest for life, she brightens even the craziest of days!

Happy Thanksgiving all!

Oh nooooo....little sis is crying and stripping because her big brother said her dress is ugly! Egads! Be back LATER!

May your Thanksgiving dinner stay off of your thighs

ummmm Chef ... i am not so sure what you are telling me ... you found yourself another Canadian Goddess? eh? did you just publicly dump me??? ... and if so ... :p ... there are lots more where you came from, baby ...

and as for the rest of you ... thank you so much my dear friends .... big hugs to you all ... and i hope your Thanksgiving was a good one ....

and oh here is an "After Thanksgiving" poem i thought you might get a kick out of ...

An after Thanksgiving poem

WAS THE NIGHT OF THANKSGIVING,
BUT I JUST COULDN'T SLEEP.
I TRIED COUNTING BACKWARDS,
I TRIED COUNTING SHEEP.

THE LEFTOVERS BECKONED,
THE DARK MEAT AND WHITE,
BUT I FOUGHT THE TEMPTATION,
WITH ALL OF MY MIGHT.

TOSSING AND TURNING,
WITH ANTICIPATION,
THE THOUGHT OF A SNACK,
BECAME INFATUATION.

SO, I RACED TO THE KITCHEN,
FLUNG OPEN THE DOOR,
AND GAZED AT THE FRIDGE,
FULL OF GOODIES GALORE.

I GOBBLED UP TURKEY,
AND BUTTERED POTATOES,
PICKLES AND CARROTS,
BEANS AND TOMATOES.

I FELT MYSELF SWELLING,
SO PLUMP AND SO ROUND,
'TIL ALL OF A SUDDEN,
I ROSE OFF THE GROUND.

I CRASHED THROUGH THE CEILING,
FLOATING INTO THE SKY
WITH A MOUTHFUL OF PUDDING,
AND A HANDFUL OF PIE.

BUT, I MANAGED TO YELL,
AS I SOARED PAST THE TREES....
HAPPY EATING TO ALL,
PASS THE CRANBERRIES, PLEASE.

MAY YOUR STUFFING BE TASTY,
MAY YOUR TURKEY BE PLUMP.
MAY YOUR POTATOES 'N GRAVY,
HAVE NARY A LUMP,

MAY YOUR YAMS BE DELICIOUS,
MAY YOUR PIES TAKE THE PRIZE,
MAY YOUR THANKSGIVING DINNER,
STAY OFF OF YOUR THIGHS

HOPE YOU HAD A HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Isabella,

Your post must have slipped through my fingers while I was visiting my family. This was so cute. Thank you for sharing with us your sentimental side as well as your penchant for humor.

Have a wonderful day and please remember to grace those around you with your beautiful smile.

Enchanted

P.S. Please allow me to send my belated Thanksgiving wishes to you.
