I've finished off my daily gallon of water and i just started on my second... and i can't even force myself to swollow it any more... who knew water could be so hard to drink. I've tried lemon, lime, orange slices etc.. but that doesn't work.. anyone have any ideas of how to make this go down easier?

Have you developed a taste for scotch? :D

Actually, that may be a tacky thing to say. Why do you need to drink so much water? Is everything okay?

*giggles* I adore scotch! but i'm more of a tequila girl :)

I used to go for two or three days sipping on the same soda.. or barely drinking at all for long periods of time because i simply wasn't thirsty... my skin got really really dry and split open, along with my mouth and i was having vision problems, and of course i could not get wet not matter how aroused i was... so now i'm trying to undo some of the damage from prolonged dehydration.

You do realize that too much water can also cause health problems? What you need to do is remember to take everything in moderation, and I'd recommend seeing a doctor for as serious of symtoms as you described.

Too much water!

PS, you said,

No problemo, Chaquita!!!

Wash the limes with the water, cut up in quarters lengthwise and remember.........lick, drink, suck!!

Runner:)

Prolly a gallon/day is enough, if you do it every day. It is going to be hard to change your habbits, but everything will work better if you are hydrated. Over doing the water all at once after prolonged dehydration can lead to a whole different set of troubles.

Lick Drink Suck Lick Drink Suck

I can always tell how drunk I am by how difficult it is for me to remember "lick drink suck".. when i'm about 8 shots in its "lick, suck.. oops drink too suck" after that i forget all about the licking and the sucking and i just stick to drinking.

I'm trying to do it every day.. its really hard.. but i'm already starting to feel better after just a week...

Does it have to be water? All I have to say is..."Milk, it does a body good!" or maybe I should draw a little white mustashe on my pic and say "Got milk?"

water is good for you but you can get it in all kinds of ways

Anything that doesnt have caffine in it is good
Herbal tea is a good one comes in all kinds of flavors
koolaid, they make a surgar free one too.

I am also trying to get off the pop and onto water, its hard but you will feel better in the end

Good point! Also juices, and other fluids, as long as they do not have caffine or alcohol. Generaly it is better to ovid carbinated beverages as well. the carbonation can be a problem when dehydrated.

I don't do dairy.. i've got vanilla soy milk though :) Yummy

Pain,I was so happy to hear you like vanilla flavored soy milk.It is my FAV all time drink. As an alternative to milk, for purposes of hydration,I would suggest you do a contrasting alternating method which is SUPER in allowing you to intake VOLUMES of water based drink.

The choice is yours, but I happen to use two juices that DON"T conflict. One is Papaya juice. alternating along with Cranberry juice cocktail.(no pun intended)The smoothness of the Papaya juice, which I drink twice as much, followed by short binges on the tartness of of Cranberry juice, will make it a simple act of consuming a gallon or more a day.

BTW:~When are we going to to a closed thread together in the SRP forum? Please PM me.

You should probably include some Gator-aide as well as plain water. Gator-Aide (tm) was developed to fight the effects of dehydration.

Maybe three quarts of water and one of Gator-Aide (or other "sports drink.")

You know I knew a guy who became addicted to water and drank so much it made him insane and he was put in a physc ward it's a medical fact it can do that I mean this guy was drinking around 44 litters each day so yeah.... not going to happen to you or any thing.

 His poor, sore pecker!

LeXie asked this on another thread a month or so ago.
Mae the nurse said a gallon or more is good.
I think the dangerous doses were in multi-gallons/day of plain water.

Oh . somebody studied the effects of sports drinks & said that Powerade was the best, but most people don't need em unless they're competetive atheletes or laboring in the heat of the sun

I know what you are going thru. Been there and I have to fight it even now.
I don't know if there is a medical term for it, but a lot of people have the same problem.

I HATE drinking water. It is plain, tasteless and I just don't like to drink it. My doctor had to threaten me with daily I.V.'s if I did not stop drinking only soda. My friends swear I have no blood in my body, it is all Coke.

I still do not drink enough, but I have started drinking juices, and kool-aid. I also drink herbal teas.

It is a chore to have to force myself to do it, but I was facing my kidneys shutting down from not having enough clear liquids to flush them out.

Keep it up and PM or e-mail me if you need support. We can start a Waters-Anon group or something.

When I decided to start drinking water, I had a hard time getting a lot of it into my system as well. I was so used to drinking that bad stuff (Coke) that water was horrible. I did manage to get up to a liter of water a day and then I'd treat myself to some carbonated seltzer water with some flavoring (strawberry kiwi was my favorite).

As mentioned by other posters, you have to be careful about not drinking too much. I have actually seen someone suffer the side affects of too much water (they actually consider it water poisoning) and it's almost as if they're drunk. It really is a weird thing to see.
