Solo Project Thread Link - http://forum.literotica.com/showthread.php?t=600866

Okay, Our solo hero project is going okay, and thus i am briefly going to begin work on our new project - a project similar in style to the Avengers and the Justice League

Thus...

THINGS TO DO...
-Choose the Number of heroes we will have in the team
-Create the required number of Heroes
-Decide on how they come to be a team (Story Number One)

NOTE: I don't intend for NiteCrowe to be present as a founder of the team, though he may well join later on.

Firstly We need to choose the number of heroes we require.

For the Heroes, we need a Home City (real or made up), an origin and history, as well as a main villian or foe.

NUMBER OF HEROES PRESENT - 5

FOUNDING ROSTER & CREATORS
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.

This will be where we Post the hero's bio's

(I'm intending to make this thread a lot better to find things lol)

Officially Starts Here!

Okay, so, first things first....how many heroes should we have found the team.

I suggest 5 or 6.

Thats also a point...do we have the characters start off as complete strangers like Avengers or JLA (you know what i mean).

Or like the fantastic four....

(please say you know what i mean lol)

Before you decide if they know each other, you need to decide each member has been aware of their powers, and how long they have been publicly using them.

If someone's been publicly using their power regularly for say a year, he/she will be fairly recognizable. If they have just developed their powers (and not had a spectacular... problem arise... You know say a person with power over say lightning accidentally causes lightning to strike all around him in a city...) or been keeping their powers out of the spotlight, hardly anyone would know about them.

True, that is up to the people who create the characters, though as i have said my main issue atm is how many we will have in the team...

I highly suggest 4-7 primary members with 3-5 side heroes. You know like the way Justice League Unlimited was done where you had the core seven who were in everything. But Green Arrow, Black Canary, Supergirl, Huntress and Steel were far from strangers. They were just junior members.

I'm thinking a combination of JLA and Fantastic Four. Maybe the core 3 or 4 (Bats, Supes, WW) are all family or close friends and then two more of the main members are people who were sought out and then we can do whatever with the auxillary charachters. Maybe they sought entry and maybe they were brought in for their various talents.

I was thinking, about a married couple/ect ect, or a pair of heroes who are already friends, who along with some others are brought togethor into a team.

I was thinking 5 or 6 core members to begin with, and perhaps 3 or 4 others who occasionally appear, but not until at least 13 stories in.

This is becuase i was thinking the first few eps could be the actual origin story, rather than starting with them as a team already.

OR

3 Heroes have a problem they can't deal with alone, and thus each choose one member to help, then afterwards, they decide to form a team.

OR

3 heroes rush here rumours of a great threat, and decide to form a team to combat this threat..

I just don't know...

Anyway we're on about core members atm...And my number is 7.

Can i have any other certain numbers?

I say five, but if you want seven I wont' argue with you I'll simply say this.

The Justice League has 3 members. Bats, Supes, WW. They have an secretary who happens to be a martian, a special ops guy on loan from an intergalatic police system, a fast guy (who's redundant cus Supes is fast) and a guy who flies. Nearly all of the major stories focus around the Big three and personally if we're working with a team of seven I'm not sure how to make all seven roughly equal. The Avengers has almost the opposite problem half the members (depending on what team of heros you call the Avengers) are more famous individually than they are as a team. Ironman, Hulk and Captain America are all (like the big three of the JL) actually bigger/better known/more important than the team they are on. And I've personally never liked that dynamic.

At least while you can argue Wolverine of the X-men he is/was a phenomon not something that happened intentionally. So I would want to keep the group small enough that all the charachters are of "roughly" the same importance. (But if as we name out heros and give out powers we find ourselves with seven solid heros I'm not opposed. Once we get beyond that I think we should archive, I'm thinking that it might not hurt to have two hero groups but like I said lets start getting ideas (while remembering this is the back up place atm.)

Hey, The avengers is my favourite comic, and the thing which got me into comic writing (lol)

God, it's impossible for me to sound pissed off isn't it....good thing im not lol.

Okay, I agree, my number is now 5, after seeing ur pov. (grr lol)

If we have one more person who says 5 then we have a majority vote lol.

I didn't mean to insult the Avengers but you can't argue that if you walk up to somebody at random they are more likely to know who Captain America, Ironman or The Hulk (even prior to the recent movies) than they are The Avengers. And several members of the Avengers are no namers if you aren't a comic nerd. I'm a "casual" fan and I can only name Vision, Scarlet Witch, Antman, and I want to say Black Panther was a member, and so was Spiderman and Dr. Strange at certain points. And that's as a causal fan. I'm sure you can name another dozen or so Avengers. My understanding is that the Avengers are similar to the Justice League, while there are a few main players it's almost more significant as a major hero to NOT be in than it is to be in. Specially if you aren't on a team. Speaking of is She-Hulk and Avenger?

I'm much better at creating villians than I am at heros so if I'm a bit quiet during the begining stages of this group don't take it as a lack of interest or motivation (or even dedication to the other idea which I am) take it as I'm well aware of my limitations and do my best work with in them, and stay out of the way when I'm not going to be productive.

Not to brag but....

Wasp, Hulk, thor, iron man, Antman, Scott lang, Jarvis, Cap, beast, Doc strange, cap britain, pulsar, quicksilver, she hulk, vision, scarlett witch, cap marvel, wonderman, hawkeye, black panther, black widow, hercules, falcon, tigra, falcon, Jocasta, triathlon, black knight, swordsman, moondragon, ms marvel, war machine, human torch, Namor, Mr Fantastic Invisible woman, quasar, spiderman, silverclaw, jack of hearts, thing, ares.

Though i think Jocasta and thing were honourory members only.

And thats not including the mighty/new avengers lol.

ANYWAY,
lets remembrer that these characters will be completely original....anyway...I have decided to speak.

And i say the number is five.

Now we just need five heroes (for the core anyway), a villian or reason they get together...

remember when creating the heroes to have the following things...

1. A home city
2. A history and origin
3. Are they new or have they being around a while?
4. A breif description of their current arch baddie.

To your previous post, see that was my point, and I've heard of probably half of the heros you mentioned as Avengers and I feel confident that I know more than any average guy.

Anyway onto the point.

City: http://www.geocities.com/terrorsmartyr/boe/citynames.html I went here and just clicked and clicked and picked out stuff and mixed n matched. I'm just gonna list a few that I like

Fort Hawkswing
Santa Anita
New Holly Valley
Saint Ashburg
Azure River Valley

History and Origin: V1. Following World War II and the incredible impacts that homosapeites made in certain key battles of both World Wars it was the official stance of the United States Government that a special task force be gathered for purpose of putting down homosapiete threats within the US and her allies. The most pressing villian was X.

In this version the city would be more of a main HQ than a location for the majority of their adventures. It gives the advantage of letting us move anywhere we want anytime with little more reason than cus, the disadvantage is it is more difficult to build up the supporting cast. (IMO) They would have a "handler" also.

V2. The heroes united to battle a common threat to the city, nation or planet. Ideally this is the main villian of the series and his first major strike on the city. They just "happen" to be around the area perhaps they were aware of each other (I kinda like the pilot episode of Teen Titans where all the heroes were vaguely aware of the others (Save Starfire) but they had never met face to face. We could also have them where they were already a loose knit group (you know they'd met at some ceremony years ago and exchanged cell phone numbers with a, hey if you ever need anything, but never really expecting to be called.

V3. They were already a team at the start of the series. First story is more about defining relationships than it is about defining the team.

3. How long have they been around. See above.

4. Working on it.

ooo, i like the city names.

when i said origin, i meant for character origin... I dont want to choose a group origin until we have the heroes sorted.

Yes all the points i placed above, i meant are specific for the heroes as they are on their own!

We sort nothing of the group out yet lol.

I'm glad you like the names, like I said you like feel free to go to the link and click away. Just ignore anything that says King or Duke or Monk or anything fantasy sounding and replace it with, New or Saint or Santa! That's all I did I clicked through some odd 30+ names and jotted down the ones I liked.

I'm particularly found of Saint Ashburg if I had to pick my favorite by the way.

Also my apologies for the confusion on the heroes vs team origin. I'll start cessing that out, and see what I can come up with for the main villian as well.

My thoughts so far: Plot

My first thoughts into hero team and members was based on Whites comment.

Why not have an extremely well known hero, he goes missing the group of four other heroes is gathered by his wife who is a psychic. She is responsible for locating trouble, (a large but silent contribution to her husbands success,) she'll be the secretary or boss of the group. The groups first task is to hunt down the most famous hero of the area.

This opening has potential to be the first story arc with various leads and the group maybe reluctant to work together at first but each character be a hero is willing to help in there own way.

It could also be unique in that the first four comics could be four different leads each featuring a single hero in a solo helping effort and each sharing the same ending which would be a sort of growing scene. At the end of the first comic the hero walks in to tell the wife what he found only to find 3 other heroes in there with her. Second comic could end with two heroes bumping into each other while entering the meeting spot, and so forth. Kind of like how in the rebirth of superman, the cyborg, super boy, steel and the one I forgot each acted independently before they combined into one story.

In the above I said husband hero and wife crime finder but it may be fun to reverse and have the girl be the full hero and the husband be the powerless one, I am really unsure which I like better.

That ran longer then I expected so I figured I'd be the other comments here.

Saint Ashburg is a fine name. (But I am glad my last name isn't Ashburg.)

In my mind most superheros live on the east coast. New York mostly with batman's Gotham being new york with a different name. I can't think of one west coast super hero other then Titans west, which features east coast heros oddly.

Any how I'd like for it to be a west coast based group. LA or Las Vegas or San Fransico (although the team would be all males there :cattail:) or some place with more suburbs then apartment buildings.

I also considered a theme for the heros such as all being cyborgs or psycic or shape shifters. (A were-wolf, were-bear, were-puma, and a were-dragon walk into a bar.)

okay, shooting it all down in flames

a) i don't want a plot yet.

b) and i don't want a theme between them.

I am fine with the entire USA, allied powers, world, or what ever. But they still need a head quarters some where so unless its space can it be the west coast or maybe Kansas since both coasts seem to make fun of the central US.
