Well, it's that time of year again.... the old year is ending, and a new one is upon us. I know quite a few people make New Year's resolutions (if only to have something to give up on in 2 weeks, like me!) So, I thought I'd have a thread that asked - What are your New Year's Resolutions?

Mine - now that we are done having children, I will lose weight! LOL... that's a classic, now isn't it!

Mine is to have the most boring year ever, to sit in my favorite chair all snuggly, and read all the books, piling up that i haven't had to time to read yet..though i doubt my two little one's will let me have the chance:devil:

But to dream...right...

Ms. M.

Mine is to lose weight (even though I never had children!):D

I also wish to become more organized!

I DO have the feeling that 2003 will be a great year!

Happy New Year, everyone!:rose:

hmmmm, wasn't going to make any this year, but think I will set a few.

Keep in touch with my friends more.....and give those who are newer friends a real chance to get to know me.

Continue working on myself, exploring my spirituality and accepting me as I am.

Really learn to live in the moment, shake off those momentary annoyances and distractions, and remain at peace.

So nice to see a few posts here...

I also resolve to try not to get "complexes" - not worry so much what other people think of me!!!

I also want to lose weight....my first holiday abroad for twelve years is coming up this year and I want to look half decent in a bikini!!!!

My other resolution I guess I started early....to balance my time with my online and offline people....and not to neglect the real world for the sake of a few hours on a website!!!!

Happy New Year All!!

Ah Trixie - I have been there. I had to make that choice recently too - and sadly, I think some of my online friendships have sufferred for it - but I have to live in the real world.

You know - a while ago I saw a thread about weight loss - and support, etc. I always think it's nice to have someone encourage me... motivate me.... other than the H who just calls me fat. LOL....

Miss chatting with you Trix!

My resolutions are to make none...really...:)

But I got this email about resolutions...

Are you sick of making the same resolutions year after year that you never keep? Why not promise to do something you can actually accomplish? Here are some resolutions that you can use as a starting point:
1. Gain weight. At least 30 pounds.
2. Stop exercising. Waste of time.
3. Read less. Makes you think.
4. Watch more TV. I've been missing some good stuff.
5. Procrastinate more. Starting tomorrow.
6. Spend more time at work, surfing with the T1.
7. Take a vacation to someplace important: like, to
see the largest ball of twine.
8. Not jump off a cliff just because everyone else did.
9. Stop bringing lunch from home: I should eat out more.
10. Get in a whole NEW rut!
11. Start being superstitious.
13. Personal goal: bring back disco.
14. Only wear jeans that are 2 sizes too small and use a chain or
rope for a belt.

For 2003:

1. To continue on the path to better health, which
includes more exercising and eating right.

2. To continue to expand my social circle of friends,
and to meet more new people from Lit in my area
(esp. in the CT/NYC area).

3. To land a new job/career-----most of you who know
me best, know about this whole job thing of mine since
last year.......

4. To save more money.......sometimes its been hard
to do when I'm still paying off my college & car loans,
plus monthly bills.

Pretty reasonable, I should say.......happy 2003!

Yep...I agree....the real world has to come first.....sometimes its not as fun as here but....c'est la vie!!! Although i think im on the way to a happy medium at last!

LOL........the last time i dieted i had to cook my 'healthy' meals...plus my husband's much less healthy meals too...it was torture!! Any support is always a help when you have a hubby who is as thin as a rake and is certain he doesnt need to diet with me!

Happy New Year, Boz!

I quit making resolutions years ago because of the disappointment when I broke them.
So, I set goals instead, and don't beat myself up if I don't meet them on schedule.
I'm only human. :rose:

By the way, Mary, I loved that e-mail! :D

Yes, I make resolutions, but the sad thing... by a day or two later, I tend to forget what they were... LOL...

Although, it's a bit hard to forget right now that I MUST lose weight. I'm so out of shape that just going up and down my stairs winds me now.... Errr....

So, any goals?

Good to see you in here!

Yes, same here. My H doesn't gain weight much at all. And it drives me nuts. He was still wearing pants he got in highschool last year. It's just this past year or so he's started putting on some, but he's still tiny. Nope, not me. I'm not trying to eat healthier, as much as just less. I think if I can eat a little less, and snack less, I do much better. And then, when I do snack, try the healthier choices, but not beat myself up if I have a few potato chips, etc. I just don't know when to stop.... And, I'm gonna try to excercise more. I was doing pretty good for a few months and had started to lose some, but then got busy, trying to open a new business.... and got off track.
