Haggis supper wi' soss anna wee juice

(Tempura of haggis, served with a salade Glasvège and a brown sauce dressing, accompanied by a crémant de Cumbernauld)

Nothing controversial about that. I hope you are ok.

Has she really brought down the higher tax bracket for the really high earners so they have more money in their pockets??? I would love to slap that smirk off her face 😡🤬
It may not have actually fucked it completely but as it is directly linked to the stock market, I won’t be retiring at the moment.

Yes, she has scraped the highest tax bracket of 45%. Which is paid by people who earn over 150K.

Interesting fact, there are now more charity shops in the UK than McDonalds. My local height street is awash with them, I very rarely visit the town centre.

On a much brighter note Hotel Chocolat are to open a factory here with a coffee shop and an outlet store, there goes the diet.

Liz Truss, bitch that just fucked my pension scheme
The Nikkei, Hang Seng, Cac 40, Dax, and other European markets have all dropped and the Dow Jones is not looking too clever. I don't think you can blame Liz for that. Much more likely the result of the actions of Putin and fallout from the Covid lockdowns. A senile POTUS doesn't help.

Not to worry though, I've seen it all before and the markets always bounce back. The fundamental value of the companies hasn't changed much.

Whilst the markets mat have bounced back there is still the cluster fuck she will make of the Northern Ireland protocols thanks to her gang of disaster capitalist and swivel eyed loons in the cabinet. With each iteration the shift to the right become more and more noticeable. I hope that this time the voodoo will work and that money flows down rather than up.

Morning campers. Now it’s October are we allowed to turn on the central heating? Not that we can afford to…
No put on a jumper and a fleece then wrap up in a blanket then a duvet and a wooly hat. If you are still cold suck it up as it ain't getting warmer for a while. I am wishing for a mild wet winter

My central heating is controlled by multiple thermostats. Some have kicked in this week. We've tweaked them so only rooms which really need it go on, but for working from home it's needed - still cheaper than if I got a train ticket to work.

Very glad we spent a fortune on insulation a few years ago. But not looking forward to having to remortgage soon...

That’s a shame you don’t enjoy the flavour. I like to also roast them whole with a head of garlic, scoop the flesh out of the skin and the garlic cloves from the bulb into a blender and pulse until smooth with olive oil. Hehehe! A lovely dip to have with raw vegetables 🥰

What are you cooking tomorrow?

Have a great weekend everyone ❤️
I love roasted aubergine. I use all sorts of flavourings but most recent was 'Szechuan' after the takeaway version was well over half other veg in some slime and only 1/4 actual silky spicy aubergine goodness.

Spread your thick slices on a pan (halved/quartered to help fit), sprinkle with sesame oil, sweet chili sauce, bit of soy sauce and sunflower oil, stir about until all covered, shove in oven at 160C for 45-60 minutes, stirring again after 45. I try to do a pan of roast veg or tofu any time I have the oven on for something else.

You can always ride on the bus all day with the old people... maybe do some patriotic community singing.

Sure all the markets are down but the UK has the worst rate of growth in the G7 and even the IMF stepped in to tell Truss her plan was shite. We'll all pay to cover her loss of face because she daren't back down now. Bitch

Mince pies? Make sure they're value brands - helpful advice from George Eustice. Love how the Cons talk about 'economic regeneration' when it's their fault it's needed. Must think we're all fucking goldfish.

I feel better now, thanks. I'd better pop down the shop for some Lotto, fags and Polish lager ;)

Ah see now that is talking down the country. It is exactly that attitude that has put the uk in the position it is in. If all you negative nellies were positive petes we would be at the top if g7 for all the right reasons.

Absolutely love it! Friends came from Newcastle to Pattaya for culture reasons and brought loads. I actually have marmite with a Chinese label in my fridge though it's tough to open when chilled.
A crumpet lathered with it....
I prefer a faint scraping of marmite on hot toast with mature cheddar cheese!

Anyone remember shrimp flavoured skips? I loved those. Or salty pub crisps that made you want to drink more beer?

In 1960 when I was traveling 1st class on a Dutch liner from the UK to Australia we had cordon bleu restaurant meals every day. By the time we got to Singapore, I wanted some plain food. After morning coffee at Raffles, I went to a cafe and had beans on toast and bought a jar of Marmite. That was the last for two years because only Vegemite was available in Australia at the time. I also missed Heinz Ketchup - only Rosella; and Branston pickle.

Crisp? I remember the Smith's crisps with an enclosed salt bag, from the original and the later relaunch which didn't last long.
