There are places in the Adirondack Mountains that are special to me....when there, it is as if I feel unique but am part of something greater.

These places are almost spiritual for me....and at times, sensual ...I focus all five senses on just being part of what is around me.

I have friends who live close to the Adirondaks. We spent 4 days camping and canoeing. Ever canoe naked? I did, and it was fun, but sunburned in bad places. But it was a good excuse to have the girls rub cream in the right places. Write me & I'll tell you more about our trips adventures.

Well, the only time I was naked in a canoe was actually quite a silly experience. When I was much younger than I am now, a boyfriend and I thought that maybe making love in the canoe would be interesting, challenging and fun.
To be honest, it was all of those things, but as you may have guessed.....we toppled the canoe! I am not sure if we lost ourselve to passion and forgot to balance....or if it was the drink.
In either circumstance, we got very, very wet and giggled like school kids!

there is a place in New Zealand that was carved by a glasier, 2,000 feet high with a natural harbour 1,000 feet deep. I have seen waterfalls that disappear into clouds before and thrown rocks into gulleys that have dissapeared out of sight.

New Zealand might be hard to top.
But New York makes me feel unique, because it is my home and I don't need to travel to find the wonders that God has bestowed upon us. (MInd you it has been years since I went to church, but I do believe!)
The chasms, the peaks, the crystal clear lakes in the region, the solitude of the Adirondacks....these moutains were declared "Forever Wild" over a hundred years ago.
Thus, the legal ground work was laid for Yosemite National Park etc. So, parts of the mountains have been virtually untouched by the 20th century except perhaps by lone forest rangers creating topo maps.
So, yes, New York makes me feel unique, because it is mine.

But if you were to take me to New Zealand, perhaps I would become awe inspired whether by its natural beauty or the company? *wink*
