Just wanted to say hello to everyone. I'm just discovering my interest in BDSM. I've always been in vanilla relationships and recently started reading short stories and found myself more than a little interested and excited. I tend to lurk but am trying to come out of my shell. So this is a preemptive greeting before I lose my nerve and continue my lurking proclivities

A couple of caveats:

• A lot of people here have a sense of humor, ranging from arid to dry to twisted like a Twizzler. Be patient with them (us).
• The stories you'll find in the BDSM section (even mine! ) are fantasies, and for the most part will have little or no relation to the way things actually are in the BDSM culture. Take them not with a grain of salt, but a whole bloody shaker of the stuff.

Many of the denizens here have years, and even decades of experience playing and/or living in the culture, and they're mostly quite happy to share the lessons they've learned.
