I feel this warrants an actual thread since it's been a helluva long time since I wrote anything, much less anything worth posting.

I did read it just now, Trinique_Fire. I'm always on the lookout for stories describing feelings. Boy, did you manage to do that. In particular, I liked the opening statement, if I dare quote it:

City lights always dazzled me and made me think for years about a world I needed to escape to with women I couldn't touch and clothes I'd never fit, parties I'd never attend, and desks that I only thought begged for me to sit behind. Now it brings on a sense of sadness, rain like tears hitting steel beams and glass buildings as I rush to the El thinking of you. I was supposed to write about you for a special kind of assignment but I couldn't find the right words...and then we woke up well into next year.

That touches a chord with me. Thanks for doing that story.

Awww, thank you. I'm really glad you like the story. Every once in a while I can actually finish a piece, and when I do it feels awesome. I'm working on another one and I'm HOPING I get a chance to finish it also.
