Laurel,

You are probably sick of answering this question, but what is the status of the new scripts that will handle story posts? I have a story ready to submit, and like Wierd Harold, I want to wait and submit it after the new scripts are in place. so as to give you a bit of a break.

Is it reasonable to assume that a story held back until the scripts are in place will be posted as soon, or almost as soon as one submitted now?

Good question... and good idea too... I hadn't thought of that but I think I will go with you and WH on that Skibum.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Oh wow, I submitted mine a few days ago, I didn't even stop to think about that. Maybe it is the fact that so many people are submitting that the new scripts can't be put in place.
I am sorry if that is the case, I didn't mean to pile up the work load. I just want it on lit is all.

PATIENCE, MY LITTLE POOHLIVE

As I had noted in another thread, I had submitted my story shortly after the 4th of July and we are in September now. There is a 5 week back log at present so we will all have to be a little patient with our submission. In the meantime and in between time, let's just keep writing our wonderful fantasy stories.

Okay, here's the whole scoop...

Manu and I calculated that it would take 400 hours to move our entire story archive over to the new scripts. Our original goal was to move everything over, THEN switch to the new site scripts. However, this just isn't possible. The more stories that come in, the further behind I fall.

So our new plan is to get the scripts bug-tested (which is currently in progress, with help from Weird Harold - who, btw, has already made some incredibly helpful suggestions and comments), then do the switch. All new stories will go into the new script, instead of me having to input them into two different places (the old site AND the new database). We'll put a link back to the old story listings, so you'll still be able to access stories even if they haven't yet been moved over into the new set-up.

We plan to have it up and running within 3 weeks. I appreciate all of your support and patience, and promise that once these are in place, you will be very, very happy. :)

Thanks, Laurel. We all appreciate the hard work, time, effort, money, blood, sweat, and tears you and Manu have put into the site. I am really looking forward to the changes that are about to come on line.
