I do expect a huge bump initially.....overreaction from those who wanted Biden out but were cautious to admit it who now feel freed to admit it...etc.Agreed but it’s nice to see a bump
I freely admit to not knowing a whole lot in-depth about the way things are done here in the U.S, but from my perspective it looks as if they want things as consolidated as possible behind Harris before the convention, so no big surprises/challenges that might throw voters out of sync and the convention really being the official 'crowning' of the candidate.I do expect a huge bump initially.....overreaction from those who wanted Biden out but were cautious to admit it who now feel freed to admit it...etc.
We'll see. I'm a bit perplexed and pissed that the DNC is doing the virtual call too....that will take some winds out of the sails as well. People who will turn on the convention coverage will absolutely be confused that she's already the nominee and I think that will turn people off.
Fair enough. In an election within margins, any move should be scrutinized....voters need to be gained and turning people off who are already fed up with what they've been given is a risk. The upside of holding off is more transparency which I think should be more important right now.I freely admit to not knowing a whole lot in-depth about the way things are done here in the U.S, but from my perspective it looks as if they want things as consolidated as possible behind Harris before the convention, so no big surprises/challenges that might throw voters out of sync and the convention really being the official 'crowning' of the candidate.
If it's one thing republicans have got down, it's the non-challenging of trump as candidate. Everyone of them knew he was to be named officially at the republican convention. If there's one absolute need now it's for the Dems to be unified behind a single candidate, and Kamala Harris is that chosen person. She's out the gates running and that girl has some chops.
I also admit to being delighted that my worries she would be received less favourably than President Biden by voters seems to be vanishing by the hour.
Early days but excellent news
That doesn't make the poll wrong. It actually factors into the margin of error.
Don't even attempt to teach MAGAs about polling. It is too much like science and math which they believe is devilry. That doesn't make the poll wrong. It actually factors into the margin of error.
All polls say something about the state of the election and candidate support....even the ones skewed towards one of the candidates (such as Rasmussen)Don't even attempt to teach MAGAs about polling. It is too much like science and math which they believe is devilry.
Channeling your "inner AJ", boss? (AJ used to trot that line out each time there was a poll he disapproved of). There is only one poll that matters.
HARRIS SEEN AS SHARPER THAN BIDEN, TRUMP
Some 56% of registered voters agreed with a statement that Harris, 59, was "mentally sharp and able to deal with challenges," compared to 49% who said the same of Trump, 78.
Looks like you have nothing to worry about!

Full disclosure: I've gotten in the habit of doing so as well, because I know it annoys AJ and his posse.
