This is what dart boards and punching bags are for.
Dude, I rent. No dart boards allowed, I will have holes in my walls and floor real quick.

And I have weak wrists so punching bags are out. And I have a shoulder injury, so murder is out, too. I'll just have to glare at people menacingly.

This comes under the ‘mental revenge is sweet/therapeutic/maybe even universal’ category. In this case, even with a happy ending.

Mark Twain, when shopping his first literary effort ‘Legendary Jumping Frog’ met with the usual issues of a first author trying to get published – rejections. Late in life he ran across the first publishing house editor who had rejected his first piece. To wit:

Twenty-one years elapsed before I saw Carleton again…. He called on me, shook hands cordially, and said at once, without any preliminaries:

‘I am substantially an obscure person, but I have at least one distinction to my credit of such colossal dimension that it entitles me to immortality – to wit: I refused a book of yours, and for this I stand without competitor as the prize ass of the nineteenth century.’

It was a most handsome apology, and I told him so, and said it was a long-delayed revenge but was sweeter to me than any other that could be devised; that during the lapsed twenty one years I had in fancy taken his life several times every year, and always in new and increasingly cruel and inhuman ways, but that now I was pacified, appeased, happy, even jubilant; and that thenceforth I should hold him my true and valued friend and never kill him again.

From Chapters from my Autobiography.

We all have our own weapons.

oh damn - that was a half-edited comment and then I got distracted. I think I'm going to leave it like that though, just to get under your skin as a stalker should...
The funny thing is, it doesn't bother me at all. I've made way worse mistakes and left them on here. :) (And then I sometimes go back a month later and fix them...)

Just something for me, but I want to share. It's been a tough year writing, and for the first time, my Pending folder has been empty. Today, I got a fresh breath and managed to get two stories into that empty folder. Small victories are still victories. My WIP folder is bursting at the seams, so maybe tomorrow I'll get one or two more moved over.

Death match: your WIP folder v my WIP folder!
