New Milestones Thread

[Bamagan]

Not my milestone, but I notice @StillStunned recently got two threads stickied here in the AH.

So we'll be seeing that cat avatar for a long time! At least it's the front end, though, unlike the reality I often wake up to. #catbuttjoke

I got my 550th follower today.

Well, it's my avatar on the threads, but it's all of you, dear fellow posters, who made those threads what they are. Give yourself a big hand, everyone!

I've heard it said that small hands are preferable... if only because they make 'it' seem larger by comparison.

My milestones are few and far between. My millstones have crowded them out!

[Bigbobnc]

I broke 300 followers overnight!

Also my Mothman story is not doing huge numbers view-wise, but it's holding strong at a 4.9 rating two weeks after being published

The non-human category is kind of a weird one because it has a bunch of LONG-running series that permenantly dominate the top-list, but from what I can tell mine is the highest-rated non-series entry for the last 12 months

Congratulations you deserve it. You’re one of the few authors I am constantly checking for new stories and I actively recommend your stories

[ShamBaLa]

No one else to share this with. Out of 10 stories, 8 are over 4.5. One is 4.7 but not enough votes. Another is 4.9 when it hit the magic 10 votes. Yea, I know that will drop but it was pretty cool to see for a moment.

[ShamBaLa]

Thanks for the love. I feel like the little kid who wants to put the gold star report on the frig. It's a little weird not being able to tell someone "hey, look at this" Thanks community .

Got a blue 'W' after 11 months of writing and learning stuff here. It's not everything, but it's definitely something. I feel like I can give myself a bit more permission to relax and work on improving at my own pace. Plus work a bit harder at my real job

If nothing else, it removes any doubts that you are capable of doing it.

This.

As cockamamie as the voting and "winning" can be, it's still an achievement to get the blue W. No matter how it happens, I've never read a blue-W story that was in any way bad.

[EmilyMiller]

I’d not even realized - it’s been a while since I checked my stats - but I’d be remiss to not thank readers for having enough faith in my work for me to cross the 1.5 million views mark. Maybe not so much compared to many, but I’m happy, given I seldom write in the high volume categories.

Thanks to all my readers

Emily

Thanks - that's well expressed, and also very true of the blue tick (and other!) stories that you and @MelissaBaby have between you.

Not only is this good news, it's good to see you here to celebrate it. AH is a better place with you around, Emily.

Hi Emily. I just read your tentacle porn story and found it quite engaging. I look forward to reading more of your stories.

[lovecraft68]

I just submitted my 250th E-book.

As I got closer to the number I kept looking at the ideas I had and trying to come up with something of substance to mark 250. But I've never been great at forcing things and the idea that kept grabbing the muse was a hot wife story so that's what it turned out to be.

I remember when Keith D-under his Srplt ID announced he'd hit that milestone and thinking, goddamn I'm only around 150, I'll burn out long before I get there.

Somehow the train kept rolling. For how much longer none of us ever know the answer to that, but for now....on to 251.

All the more impressive when we consider that you don’t tend to leave comments on your own stories. As they say over in the racing stud community, thank you for your service.

Just left comment number 1,500.

The Site should give you a gold star, or something, for that.

Something that would fit with their Red Hs, Green Es, and Blue Ws. Perhaps a Yellow C?

I wonder if commenting frequently gives any type of boost to a person's own stories in the algorithm by their name showing up so frequently?

I very much doubt it affects the "similar stories" algorithm, but, yes, at least a handful of readers have told me they found my writing via my comments on others' stories. Wasn't my motivation, but it's certainly a pleasant side effect.

[MajorRewrite]

I reached the 4500 followers milestone. Following me is a real show of optimism considering I haven’t posted a new story since 2022.

Cheers to the optimists!

Asked for advice for the first time in a few years. Might not seem a big thing, but sure is for a man who rarely asks.
