Mattel are patting themselves on the back because they've put out new Barbie dolls, congratulating themselves on developing dolls with curvy shapes and different ethnicities to represent modern times....

Hello? Um, we've always had women with curves! We've always had different ethnic groups!

My daughter never had a Barbie. I had one when I was a little girl, but because I was a bit of a tomboy I was less interested in the doll and more interested in strapping a homemade parachute to it and dropping it off the top floor of the only highrise in town!
Barbie could only take 4 drops before she looked like a war victim.
So then my brother set her on fire and cremated her.

I heard about this on Today, the morning show, this morning. I'd be really interested to see these Barbies.

I boycott all Barbies.
An now after they've decided to release these ones even more so!
After how many years of being part of the massive body self-esteem problem of teens, NOW they grow a conscience?

I'm waiting for the realistic Ken doll with the beer belly and receding hairline. He comes with a beer bottle and baggage.

Any plans on adding:

Ken the Stalker
Barbie the Psycho Bitch
Bi Polar Barbie, or is that solely based on imagination?
One with Down Syndrome
Missing limbs
Pan sexual Barbie
Once fat, but now skinny barbie with extra skin and stretch marks

And lets not forget, they have to make an equal number of dolls for each style for the company to be truly forward thinking.

PMS Barbie.
One day every month it cries. And then goes psycho for another day.

Whaaa, jus stop bein fat brah.

Welcome to the team, warrior queen.
I'm a "stinky smelling paki, brah".:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I think it is great what they are bringing out. I loved Barbies. I never looked to Barbie as an example of what a woman should be. It's a toy. I looked around the real world to see all the differences. My brother had GI Joe's and let me tell you Barbie can kick their butt. LOL:cool:

I agree, sounds a bit PC and I think that they're primarily guided by self-interest (I doubt that they really care about those issues ; they just want to increase sales, let's be real)

But we've become, as a society, so ridiculously PC on many other issues, so one more wouldn't count.
And I think it's a good thing, because they're sending the right message.
You see an increasingly higher nomber of young girls nowadays-with a normal BMI or a less than athletic constitition - ending up with chronic low self-esteem or eating disorders, because of the unattainable Hollywood or glam. mags. standards

The SmootG alt who called you "fat, brah."
He used to troll me saying these awesome things that ended in the inevitable "paki, brah."(for some bizarre reason he amused me).

But I see that he is thinking of branching out. (he started trolling you and 5InchHeels, too).

I never had a Barbie when I was younger.
Or Lego. Or anything.
I wasn't allowed toys.
