Welcome to AH! Regarding your questions, most of the locals write some degree of smut (or not) but there is certainly room for discussion of writing ideas/techniques if you are inclined to start/join a thread. The threads here run the gamut from uber serious to completely frivolous. Flirting abounds and never forget that genius walks these halls.

There is a Newbie Support Forum here if you find yourself in need of friendly answers to any of your questions.

Hi, Bic, and I would like to echo Yui's welcome to Lit. and to the AH. The site is for anybody who wants to read and/or post here. Most of us are writers of stories, some smuttier than others, and I believe mine are the smuttiest of all. There are other forums where you can get ideas, advice, etc., including the Newbie forum.

Welome to Lit and the AH.

We all write a variety of things here, but being an erotica site, that is the predominant genre. There is a category here on Lit for non-erotic stories, so those who don't include sex in their stories are very welcome to post here.

In fact, as Box said above, anyone is welcome to post here. The best thing you can do is throw yourself in and post all and any queries and questions you might have. I have found that there is a wide breadth and depth of knowledge of all things writerly within the posters here.

Welcome to the AH BicMan. Most of the writers here do write erotica, but most also write non-erotic literature and there is a lot of general writing discussion. As long as you don't get offended by the possibility of seeing naughty things, then this is one of the best places to hone your writing skills.

Sooooooo.... you're an ass piring writer are you. Well then you need to hear a few truths before you piss... cough, that is to say perspire all over your panty linings. First off, critique is about what you write, not who you are, if taken in the spirit that is is offered then one can learn to become a better writer, but the writer has the last word always remember that especially when you get attacked by snerts. And second, the responce you get here is set by the tone of the question, and sometimes the question itself if every damn newbie before you has asked it too. Now stop bull shiting, and get back to writing.

I've seen it said often and profusely here by many and varied people that there is a great deal that one can learn about all manner of things written in this very forum and critiques/ideas are plentiful here and elsewhere on this site. I come here to talk to other writers, genre isn't important. Writing is writing. I have only written one piece of erotica, but I come here all the time anyway. Out of all the writing sites I visit this one seems to have more prolific writers with more developed skills than the others. You can learn a lot on Lit. Sometimes you even learn things you really didn't want to know.

Thanks for the welcome. No I am not easily offended at all by erotica, I was just curious if members also wrote other styles.

Basic style I am focusing on is Creative Non-Fiction. I've been trying to write a story every day, but sometimes get bogged down in editing old works. But as long as I try to make progress everyday I am satisfied.
