Who writes long sex scenes?

I find there's so much out there to skim thru that I'm always pleasantly surprised when I find a story I like - and when I do I always bookmark that author, because generally when you enjoy one you'll enjoy more. The hard part is finding the stories you like - the glitter amongst the dross, mundane, and often boring (individual tastes of course....). That said, I love those long slow burns and the long sex scenes - and I write what I enjoy reading too.... and it saves time to do what the OP has done and just ask.
That's fair, we definitely are drowning in volume and the quality varies wildly. I think I approach things in the same way as you - find an author I like, bookmark them, keep an eye on their work. I also tend to click through from the forums on people who say interesting things or talk about writing in a way that resonates with me. (For example I also love slow burns and long scenes and I don't know your work, so I'm going to go and explore very soon!)

When I'm browsing generally I tend to have a quick scroll of new stories and then look through the top lists - I don't want to focus on just the top-rated stories, and there's always good stuff to find in the new queue. Maybe that's what OP means by "trudging through randomly" but to me it feels quite intentional.

I think there's a real art to writing a long sex scene, and as with anything it's one of those things where the story often tells you what it needs. My new story is about 3,000 words and it's mostly a single sex scene. I could have gone longer with it but I genuinely didn't think it needed it, and readers so far seem to be responding well to the pace of it. We'll see if that changes once American wakes up though

For me sex scenes have to be long enough to reach a climactic ending, otherwise they're a little disappointing. But who's to say what's too long or too short? For some it's about the chase and the build up and what's implied, this for me can lead to a danger of boring people with pointless dull plot and back story when really they just want a bit of naughty escapism.

I'm happy to write long sex scenes if I can keep them interesting, but I seldom do so because there needs to be more going on than just sex for a long scene like that to work. How much can you really stretch out a scene involve a penis thrusting into a vagina before the descriptive juices run dry?

Wait, when people say "sex scene" are they literally just talking about PiV penetration and not...all of the other things that make sex, sex?

To me a sex scene is everything that happens from the start of sexual contact to the end, I guess, that stays in one place. So to me, two characters do some kissing, then they go down on each other, then they have sex, then talk plot in the afterglow, then take a shower and have sex again, then go their separate ways -- that's all one sex scene, as long as there's not a major change in location or a big jump in time.

Agreed!

Hi, aspiring writer here! I am editing a story I wrote a little back and am wondering if I could read some of your scenes to get an example? I don’t like trudging through randomly. I like stories where a man trains his sub and most things in mind control (as long as the actual writing fits my style)

Maybe different from the stories you like, but here is a one I wrote on Lit long back -- where two sex scenes (straight and gay) are taking place simultaneously, at different but close by locations, across 3 pages:

Soul Mate

Of course there's foreplay and aftercare involved (or at least there should be), but even then the general point still stands: there's only so long you can drag out a scene like that unless other things are going on.

Short scenes are often just plain; plain is always dull. People deserve literary expressions of beautiful minds that can extend into descriptive lived and fantastic imagined experience that mutually stimulate the reader's mind, rather then short blurts of bullet points; the latter being no more than scratches and scrapes of often plagiarised ideas and routinised mundane clichés that are easy to write on a 'phone.
