I'm not sure if after all the wind and the ride home if there is any dust left from the scraping and sanding today.
'Dust' is an interesting metaphor in a series of books, and I like the idea of dust as an analogy for spirit or ideas. It can accumulate, it can soak in to a person's skin and become part of them, or become diffuse and non-existent in the wind.
These are the odd thoughts when I spend time with my hands occupied and my mind free to wander, thoughts unbound by care or attentiveness.
For years it was part of a ritual as sacred to me as the harvest but lost for decades with the changes in my profession.
It was nice to feel the wind and sun on my skin again with a sander in my hand
