I have 2 computers, both have network cards and the working cables.

One PC has Windows 2000, the other has Windows ME. Is there a way to get the two interact asa network? Or do I updae Windows ME to Windows 2000?

I'll be greatful for help.

Apple/Mac crap is not welcome! lol

You need a Hub, for a LAN connection or better yet a router if you want them both linked and connected to the net.

I don't want them on the Internet.

You need either a router, hub, or crossover cable. The crossover cable is the cheapest option if you don't plan to add other computers to the network.

Connect the crossover cable to the network cards, and run the "Network wizard" on the Win 2000 machine. Follow the instructions there for setting up the Win ME machine, or run the Win ME "network wizard"
