nerdy chicks

My goal is to give help to the noobs on certain musical issues and critique others' WIPs. I think I am the most respected person on the Overclocked ReMix WIP boards as I critique about 50% of the pieces (the ones no one else will comment on.) I don't want to play too cocky though. I'm very clueless in how to moderate the boards if they ever ask me to moderate the board.

I think it is a matter of deleteing bad post but reading them would be a drag unless you are already... what is the url of the boards? my stepfather built a nice midi studio for him in his office and he might be able to get some help there... He keeps sending his stuff to taxi but his stuff is real AAA so it doesn't get forwarded... he needs some help. Moving his music.

It is best he post in the Remix101 forums with something like that. Maybe he can team up with Rellik from there.

I wouldn't count on him posting just yet...
But I assume that people there provide help in all areas of music industry not just the creative part right?

From music creation, music recording, to setting up a sound studio to a little bit of music programming (more likely what is needed and all.)

We have a studio worth a probably easilly 10 to 20k in synths and recorders and software and pianos and so on...

*drools*

Let's see what I got here...

A 200 dollar mic
a 100 dollar mixing board
a 200 dollar midi keyboard
and about 1500 dollars worth of software...

I think his 16 track recorded is worth more then your studio lol. I think it was something like 2500 to 3000 bucks his mike is on the order of 500 and his keyboard 1800ish I don't know about the rest and all the equipment in the rack... but he has a pice of hardware that fixes the pitch in his voice cool shit..

He has 2. The big one is getting taxi to forward his music to any artist he writes in adult alternative and they all write thier own songs and don't buy them. The second problem is finding a female vocalist to sing some of his songs that aren't for guys.

local college.

There's always some girls in the jazz program who's looking for something to do... I think.

Edit - I don't get the first question...

Your probably right about the music chicks I see a bunch of bored kids when I go to school so its probably a decent lead.

There is a company called taxi that you subscribe to and every m onth they send you a newsletter full of listings. And you send your songs to the listing you think they fall into and then taxi listens to them and if they feel it is right for the listing they send the demo to the record company or label and then poof you could have a sale. But the problem is they are tight and nit picky about stuff since they have a reputation to keep up as far as not forwrding crap. So if your song or demo doesn't fit the listing exactly then they send it back to you with a little critique but usually his critques say great structure nice arangement but it really belongs in AAA and not wherever he sent it. Problem with AAA is all those artist write and preform there own songs.

funny thing is that I'm a judge at one of these type of sites.

I'm an audio engineer geek.

you should say another within that sentence. Cuz I'm too. Except I lean towards more of the composition side of things.

Interesting... never heard of it...

and the 8050.... thinks for a moment.

Sounds something like Roland or Kurzweil. Not Yamaha I know that and not Korg as it is not their way of branding their merchandise.
