Nerds and Geeks rollcall!

Either that, or people in high school should just become more accepting (like that's going to happen  ).

Yeah, and if anybody out there thinks high school people will change, I've got a wonderful catalogue of bridges I would love for them to take a look at :)

Bridges like bridge over water or bridges like dental work? I'm so confused today. It's been a bad day so far. :(

I assume he meant bridges as in bridges to sell.

Yeah bridges to sell... it's just one of those weird analogies people make.

Sorry you had such a hard day :(. Things are bound to get better now that classes are all over with. If they don't you can always use some toys to distract yourself for a couple of hours :)

Question to all you Roleplaying geeks out there. What is your roleplaying system of choice? I personally love the Storyteller/World of Darkness system, though BESM has been growing on me for sometime. Just wondering what people around here tend to play.

I like the D20 system personally, however I've been playing a game called "Deadlands" and that uses a really unique system, which relies on draws of actual poker cards to sort of see what happens. You use these for everything from character stats, to skill checks, and many other things. It's a very interesting system, and a helluva good game too :)

I'm goin' with DnD 2e rules..... 3e sucks..... they killed off all the fun.....
no more real evil.....!! I'm a NWN gamer, currently pulling my hair out over how to build a better monster...

...... and now back to your regularly scheduled commericals....

good morning ya'll!

I'm a NWN gamer too :)

Although i'd have to go with the rules from Baldurs Gate 2

2e i think they were :D

Zergplex Says

Well NWN seems to be popular around here. Never played it myself, but Forgotten Realms as a setting has always appealed to me in D&D tabletop (I assume your talking about the computer game). I initially didn't like 3e but it really grew on me until at this point I like it far more then the buggy 2e (though first edition kicked ass). I tend to stay away from d20 because I like to base my games more heavily on roleplaying, with battle as a suppliment to the story rather then the other way around. Hence why I perfer WoD over D&D since it's main emphasis is storybased (though I have seen my share of vampire werewolf abomination mages... damn you Sam Haight). Just my preference though, everyone plays differantly.

I have heard of deadlands but not in alot of detail, all I have heard about it is positive though. I'd love to hear you tell about the system in a bit more detail Tapout.

Well thats all from me for the night, goodnight all!

Woah, it's been much too geeky in here while I've been away! :p I've decided that it's kind of fun to stay in a hotel on the bands money. Not that we went crazy, but it's a nice change of pace. I swear though, I had to watch the video of the 2001 marching band show way too many times. When you can sing along and cue in certain things, especially when you weren't even in that show, you know there's a problem. :rose:

Okay so I recently aquired the pieces for a new computer.. I put it together and now yay, I have another RH9 box. I'm so happy... and the cool thing is that I can set everything up without even referring to any material.. I can set up Apache, Samba/SWAT, FTP, and some basic tuning... that's pretty cool for me :)

However if I see any more "RPM File Dependencies" I'm gonna throw this damn thing across the room *LOL*

Hope everybody is having a good week thus far.

I'm all snowed in (again  ) so I don't have much else to do other than stay in an geek out.

You're right about this place.. it is far to quiet in here... I say we all need an all night LAN party. Yeah that would work :)

New nerd on board

You only have Zergy to blame for my presence. he invited.

Now hop on over to my thread for a gander and post if you like.

I'm a DnD guy and amazingly enough (from all the negative comments I've heard about it) I like the 3e/D20 rules. I think it streamlined the game quite a bit.

And evil, that's salt for the DM. Add to taste! ;)

Definatly LAN! I challenge you in ZSNES to a Ranma 1/2 battle! Come on! Bring it! Lol!

We just got snow dropped on us too, and more coming on Friday -_- not as much as you probubly, only 6 inches. Biking to work in it still blows though.

Glad to see you over here, welcome to Geek 101.

I have nothing against 3e personally, people said the same things about second edition at first. Some people who don't want to grow and evolve beyond what they know. Even so my heart still lays with the Storyteller system as my favorite. Then again I made so much custom material for that system it was ridiculious.... custom Soul Reaver campaign anyone? ^_~

Soul Reaver: Raziel's Legacy... let the adventure begin!

Snow, snow, snow. I thought that by coming home for spring break (hahaha...spring...right), I'd get away from the yucky weather in Amherst. But noooo, it has to snow! That's okay though. I've basically just been getting in my FF7 fix this week. I've been having a serious craving for too long and I had to scratch the itch.

Amherst?? We have a place named that here in NS *LOL*

Yeah snow sucks, but luckily it's melting already. Not fast enough mind you, but it is melting.

FF7 still, to this day, kicks total ass. I still say Aries (sp?) getting the sword through the gut was one of the biggest curve balls ever thrown into an FF. Nobody saw it comming, and I know many a person who's heart wept when it did happen. That game just kicked ass on so many levels (well with the exception of the square hands, but ain't nothin' perfect (although FF6 does come pretty close)). Definatly a good itch to scratch. I'm currently re-playing FFX. Damn that game is sweet on many levels :)

I still think the biggest curveball in a final fantasy is the ENTIRE world of ruin half of Final Fantasy 6. Who could have seen that coming. I personally had the Aerith death sequence spoiled to me, which meant it was less surprising but no less sad.

FFX definatly rocks on several levels. I havn't felt that good about a final fantasy since 7.

Aries....*snickers behind Tap-Out's back*
I loved the square hands! That's what I missed when I played FF8. Down with realism! Mwahaha!
I saw Aerith's death coming only because I had read/been told that it happened a billion times before I got to playing it, since I got a PS1 in 1998, I think. Everyone on the planet had already played it, so I knew she died before I even knew who she was. I didn't cry, but it was sad. It's a difficult thing to live with when your favorite character is Aerith, but Sephy is just so goddamn sexy. Decisions, decisions. I still wish that Tifa had sacrificed herself in Aerith's place. As cool as her limit breaks are, I'd prefer having Aerith on my team anyday. :p

Tife could never have been the sacrifice. No one cared enough for her ^_~ Aerith was someone that was almost universally liked so her death was one of the most memorable parts of the game. Do you think it would have been as memorable if Tifa had been the one dying? I don't think so.

Large breast obsessed fanboys all over the world would have been devestated. And I do think I would have missed her limit breaks, but Great Gospel did seem quite helpful in certain situations. I always make myself get that limit break, even if I only get to use it for a short amount of time. I'm stubborn like that. :D
