Tolyk- I just dont get it. Talked to this guy for two weeks straight(meet him online), told him I was a bigger girl, etc; show pictures. We went on one date... never talked to me again. How do you go from talking to someone every day multiple times, and having personalities mesh great(at least enough to be friends.. if not something more), to meeting them in person and never call again.

*hugs* Sorry that happened to you!!

Yeah, he's doing that a bit more. When was the last series you watched?

I've seen a couple episodes of the new series, and a few episodes of Torchwood. Before that, the movie with the 8th Doctor and my family would watch the old show whenever we caught it on AFRTS.

I've only watched the first episode of the new doctor. None of torchwood yet, but I do have it on my list.

I absolutely know how you feel. I had a girl who I went on a date with, date went great (the best date I've ever been on, actually) and she sent me an e-mail right after saying how she wanted to see me again and she really liked me... and then she deletes that account and a week later says "I want to date someone who works in my field."

I was like, WTF.

I love the new Dr. Who series'. They are really, really good. Also, Torchwood is really good too, a bit more adult though. And if you watch the new Dr. Who, the episode written by Neil Gaiman (The Doctor's Wife) is spectacular.

xD This thread is great!! As main stream as being a "Nerd" is getting its still fun to see a place where others gather and chat about the random shit that we nerds like to do.

Obviously I can't speak for your situation but sometimes what works online just doesn't work in person. Somebody can come off differently. I don't mean to imply that you misrepresented yourself, but you can create an image of a person that isn't like the real them since you only talk online.

Also, something happened to me once where I talked to this girl online for a bit, we hit it off and agreed to meet for coffee the following week. Over the weekend at a friend's birthday party, I meet one of her friends and the chemistry is really there. I went out with the first girl anyway and had fun but it was more of an obligation; the girl I'd met at my friend's party was a much more instant connection and we ended up dating for a few months. Never talked to the other girl again but it wasn't her fault.

I have seen every episode of the new ones with the exception of one or two from last season.

The Doctor's Wife was great!

BTW, has anyone else watched that new Sherlock series? I love it so far. They did a rather good job modernizing the setting.

Well this thread moves fast and furious when there are females about.

You can't blame us guys (even those who are nerds, not that I am a nerd) to stick around just to make small talk with one another without having a woman or three to try and impress ;)

And Micro...guys are stupid.

Sherlock is very good. Gotta wait a while for the new series to hit stateside, alas.

The new Sherlock series was awesome, especially with Martin Freeman as Watson. They guy won my everlasting love for being Tim in the original UK Office with Ricky Gervais...then cemented my everlasting live by playing Arthur Dent in the Hitchhiker's movie...AND he's going to be Bilbo in the Hobbit movies! Then he turns up as Watson? What's the guy trying to do, win the Nerd Nobel Prize?

That was hilarious, but with a song like that there was a distinct lack of Capt Jack Harkness

I concur on the new Sherlock series. It's a refreshing, updated take on a classic and it absolutely works. Can't wait for more episodes. And I agree on Martin Freeman - the guy is badass!

So, I won a contest at work and got a set of 200 watt Klipsch speakers as a result... I must say, I had a nerd-gasm when I hooked them up and tried 'em out. I've never had such nice computer speakers before. Usually stick to 100 dollar logitech desktop speakers as my high end. LOVING this
