Next one on the list was The Last Airbender, but my kids didn't like it, which means I'll save it until DVD.

Despicable Me is probably next

I just saw Daybreakers on DVD. Good movie, wish I caught it in the theatre. See it if you like vampire movies, and see it if you like classic muscle cars.:D

Just don't watch the special features. Never have I watched a more self indulgent faux artsy load of crap then the way the cast droned on about how the movie was something no one had seen before, and completely art.

I had it running in the background. I briefly pinged onto a bit where they were talking about how Wilem Dafoe will act like Wilem Dafoe, regardless of how you write his character. :D

Just caught an episode of Robot Chicken with "Take your Sidekick to Work Day" Does my heart good to see the classic teen titans (mostly) show up in main stream media.

Just saw Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (whew! Long title.)

Not a bad movie. Not a great movie, and it feels like chunks of the plot got taken out (and indeed, from reading it up online, even huger chunks of the plot got taken out than I first realized. It seems that this movie is like if the first Harry Potter movie just got rid of all that troublesome Voldemort stuff and went from there.)

Well, it's official. SP and I are husband and wife! Thought I'd share a bit about our wedding with our fellow nerds.

There aren’t really any funny wedding stories to share, in fact our wedding went pretty damn near perfectly. The funniest thing that happened are some of SP’s college friends drank too much and got sick outside in the parking lot. The worst thing that happened was utilizing the backup plan for venue. It rained all night and our outdoor ceremony was all washed up, however the reception hall did an amazing job setting things up with such short notice and the wedding proceeded smoothly.

I did not have my camera to take photos of everything going on of course, but my friends probably took more than enough. Once I start getting those I’ll be sure to share. The tables looked fantastic, the center pieces were perfect, the meal was enjoyed by all, and the first dance proceeded with only a couple minor trips on the dress.

The speeches were all relatively short, but they were all sincere and beautiful. My speech, after thanking everyone who helped put the wedding together, and everyone for attending, went a little something like this, “As you all probably know, SP and I met under slightly unusual circumstances. We met online. When we finally decided to meet face to face I flew out to Halifax and had a friend there pick me up and drive me to her place. When she came out I lost myself in her green eyes and haven’t found myself since.”

All the staff working the event commented that it was the best wedding they’ve ever worked because everyone was so happy and polite. The DJ did a stellar job, we had everyone up on the dance floor at least once and only two or three songs that didn’t get at least a single dancer.

The night ended with a final dance between SP and I to our song, “Hey there Delilah” by the Plain White Ts. Oh, and then some post-wedding shagging.

Then they lived happily ever after.

The End :D

Hope your wedding goes as smoothly as ours did Tex :)

And yes, there was cake, very good cake in fact. However, we forgot to grab it when we checked out the next day. So SP's parents grabbed what was left.

Yay cake!

So, something I've noticed: The Marines always get better cake at their Birthday Balls than the Air Force does. We get good cake, quite acceptable professionally done cake. The Marines get outstanding cake, usually two layers with some kind of fruit layer in between. It just ain't fair!

grats on the whole marriage thing.

I just moved to Charleston, Sc any of you guys/gals live around here looking to hang with more geeks in the area. Social networking to meet them wow...but eh lol.

I just made the list for Staff Sergeant! :cattail:

On an unrelated note, anybody else see Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World? I did, and it was awesome.

anything new going on other than everyone is getting married.. .

Welcome back!

As for new things other than people getting married (of which I am not one) I have been writing a number of screenplays. Because of my efforts, I have been asked to write a spec script for a Halo short film.

How about yourself?
