.223 Remington. That would be the cleaning brush under the lid. Normally the .300 win mag fills the long range role, or the .308. This just happened to be a "training rifle" that went out too well.

Cool. I've not done any extensive shooting, but have always had an enjoyable time. NOTHING like the clack of a well oiled bolt action.

Palm, of course, when women finally get tired of bards, they ALWAYS come back to the heavy mace wielding cleric. :D

Tired of the bard? Nah...

Though I could probably come see you for stamina buffs if needed...

Bear's Endurance and Bull Strength potions... On SALE NOW!

Jimmy, I think it was garand, but it has been many moons, so I could be wrong.

Those are semis. Easily distinguished by the en-bloc clips that they take and the signature ping of the clip coming back out when empty. 1903 maybe? Enfield? K98?

Shrug?
I think I remember my grandfather saying it was chambered for .32, but again, I could be horribly wrong.

Im guessing the latter since .32 is a pistol cartridge, or an antiquated black powder. There is the .32 WS in levers though. *Shrugs*

I'll give him a ring tomorrow to find out. It'll bug me otherwise.

And me too. The garands are in 30-06 and .308 rebarrels. Most common cfg's there. Im sure an enterprising smith or builder has converted them to other calibers.

And/Or?

Show some ambition man!

AND, go for the AND!

If we're being completely honest, the beer is pretty much the only one I have a chance with tonight.

New fantasy of the evening: scantily-clad nerdette knocks on door with Player's Handbook in one hand and a 6 of Guiness in the other.

Any takers?

Could go for a care package like that myself.

Jimmy, you too? Men! Dream big!

Make it TWO nerdettes with PHBs, a six pack apiece, and their own dice!

Reaching for the stars. I like.

Hell with it, go big or go home: a decent-sized adventuring party of nerdettes, all with dice and beer, HP represented by clothing, and we have a hive of great wyrms around the corner.

Critical success, indeed...

Speaking of guns, I got to handle an M-14 the other day. That'd be a fun weapon to qualify on. Seems the Air Force EOD guys use them as a tool for dealing with IEDs. Assuming the IED isn't itself near anything valuable that can't be moved (ie: buildings, bridges, etc.), the preferred method of diffusing them is to stand a few hundred yards away with the 30-06 rifle and plink at it until something fun happens.:D

Well lets say it this way. Theres someone Im been with recently, so unless its her I'll pass. Im a one woman kind of man. And Beer? Lord no... Give me liquor, hard liquor, Bacardi 151 chased by 100 proof Southern comfort any day of the week. Hell even a baltomore zoo sounds fantastic now. The dice.. trivial to her company and conversation. It would be great if she played a game along. Id love that. I think im justified in my reasoning ;)

Ah if my heart wasnt taken.

Hate to be anal BUT.....7.62x51 NATO. Now we could go into the geometric chambers of the civilian versions of the M14.... neither .308 Win or 7.62 NATO but a hybrid of both. Regardless.. awsome weapons. Im surprised I dont own one.. or 10. I got into the FN FAL weapon series instead, and have loved them since. And we all know EOD loves to poke things with a stick or strap C-4 to it. :D

Theres several decent alternatives to the M-14 too. Ruger Mini series and the Italian BM-59 spring to mind fast. *Nods*

Yeah, I suppose we already know.
It's like cars though; something we like to incessantly natter on about, despite women being about.

I mean, to be fair, we can't spend every moment fawning... :D
Sometimes, we just have to have man-talk.
