We do spend an inordinate amount of time fawning too.

My first car was a BMW 325i with a cracked head gasket. Fun times.

Mustange.. pfft. The mid 60's and 70's were good years for ALL cars. Aside from the 5.0's they havent made much of an impression on me except the special order ones. GT500 *Nods* One of my current cars is a 2002 Trans am ram air. A "little" mustang rivalry is in effect here

First car was an 89 Ford Ranger. Silver with burgundy stripes down the side. 3" body and 3" suspension lift. Tonneau cover, visor, mag wheels, and a brush guard. At 315k the engine started to go so we stuffed a 289 V8 under the hood.... fun times in that truck.

So honest opinion ladies. Is it even remotely sexy sometimes for men to prattle on about cars/guns/sports/other manly activity or thing?

I enjoy my girl talking about her things. Its something shes passionate about. Even though I had no interest int hem I try to learn them for her.

It depends on how long and the manner he does it in. My ex used to be really into cars and motorcycles and he would try to explain things to me. It turned me on. But he never talked at me, or over me. And he would always stop when I told him I had lost my patience with it.

Although calling those things "manly" I take some offense with, but that's just the feminist in me.

Talking, discussing, prattling, are very different things. If someone is interested in you then they will be interested in discussing a subject you find interesting - manly or not. They may find it sexy - but it really depends on the person, the subject, and how interested they are in you and the subject.
Talking at someone about a subject is usually not a good thing. Usually it's perceived as being cocky, trying to force an opinion, or generally talking to hear yourself talk.
Prattling would be more like rambling or endless chatter and usually doesn't go over too well either.

I would also never tell your girlfriend that you have no interest in the things she's talking about, even though you're trying to learn them. Probably wouldn't go over too well. You may have had no interest in the past but hopefully she's made you see something in a new light and then you can see why they are interesting to her and now to you.

If we got into the femenist thing I would clearly tell you that a woman is in every way as capable as a man. There are undeniable gender differences, but those can be worked around easily. No, I agree with you. I wasn't really thinking of sports, but professions like certain military jobs and firefighters. As far as hobbies and things people enjoy... I completely agree with you. In fact I find women that enjoy some of the more "manly" things a bit sexy.

Massage - however if the person doesn't know how or isn't that good then I wouldn't say no to nails running up and down me either
